Dr. Tara Schlussel graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in integrative health psychology from Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. Dr. Schlussel's research focuses on exploring factors that protect against the intergenerational transmission of trauma. She has trained and worked at the Saban Community Clinic, VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center, West Los Angeles VA, and the Simms/Mann - UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology, in addition to private practice settings. Dr. Schlussel has extensive experience implementing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), CBT for Substance Use Disorders (CBT-SUD), CBT for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as mind-body interventions including Mindfulness Self-Compassion (MSC), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and biofeedback. She also has experience administering comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and providing group, family, and couples therapy.
