Disclaimer: Providers at Canino Psychotherapy focus on therapy services and do not prescribe medication, as they are not psychiatrists. As a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor with a MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Bonaventure University, I am committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward mental and emotional well-being. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating eating disorders, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy, and expressive arts. I believe that the client is the expert in their own life and my role is to provide support and guidance. I work collaboratively with clients to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client and strive to provide personalized and effective treatment. *Please kindly note that we do not provide psychiatry services (medication) and are unable to accept UnitedHealthcare Medicaid insurance plans at this time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. By fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship, I empower clients to tap into their inner strengths, gain insight into their emotions, and develop effective coping strategies.
