“Dr. Paton has excellent insight, he is soft spoken and listens intently to what is being said. I found him to be wonderful at identifying and interpreting my concerns. He is very patient, he provides a safe and calm environment that assured my ability to express my concerns freely. Although this was my first session with Dr. Paton, I was very impressed with his therapeutic style of engagement and his genuineness during the treatment. At no time was he ever judgmental. I believe that the work needed for my healing will be successful. I highly recommend Dr. Paton for anyone who's ready to do the work for a more gratifying life. ”

Getting to know Dr. Thomas Pabon

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my PhD and Master's in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn, and completed my undergraduate studies at Washington College. Prior to dedicating myself to private practice, I served on the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine for several years, where I taught and supervised psychotherapy services for APA psychologist interns and advanced psychiatry residents. I currently serve as an expert witness for brain injury legal cases involving neuropsychological testing and conduct court-mandated competency examinations. In my psychotherapy practice, I have practiced and refined a variety of therapeutic approaches, integrating the methods that have proven most effective in promoting psychological wellness and positive outcomes. I have helped clients overcome anxiety disorders, excessive guilt, depression, relationship conflicts, PTSD, trauma, poor self-esteem, addictive disorders, and emotional storminess. I strive to provide empathy and clear understanding. My approach helps clients recognize and change distorted patterns of thinking and the associated painful feelings. Therapy is tailored to the unique needs of each individual client. My interventions promote increased self-acceptance and foster the strength and vision needed to change and improve relationship patterns involving guilt, worry, self-doubt, conflict, and feelings of disconnection from others. This process often includes coping skills development, changing dysfunctional thought patterns, mindfulness, interpersonal learning, and emotional awareness techniques.

DR. Pabon is empathetic, listened closely, but I don't feel that he was the best fit for me.

I feel he is very empathic and a great listener. He offers insight that has been invaluable to my healing process. Of course, there is much more work to be done, but I feel calmed and reassured after our sessions. It's odd to describe but the changes in my behavior have happened very naturally and without a huge conscious undertaking. However, the changes have been significant none the less. Lastly, his hours are flexible, he is very personable, and I never feel like he is rushing me out the door at the end of my session.

He has a great bedside manner and listens to and considers everything you say. He lets you do most of the talking but is great at asking questions to stimulate the conversation and explore the issues.
Dr. Pabon is wonderful. This was my first session with him and he made me feel very comfortable and was able to talk about what I am going through. He was not worried about time and genuinely listened. I look forward to my next session with him. I will definitely continue my sessions with him.

Dr. pabon was very nice, he was attentive, listened to what i was saying and had some good follow up questions and comments. this was my first time seeing him and he was not worried about time, he let the session go on as long as it needed to go. downside was the actual building, it did freak me out a little but after i was in the room with him i felt relaxed and ready to open up about my problems.

This was my first time speaking with the doc. I enjoyed listening to the things he had to say and his thoughts on panic and anxiety. I look forward to returning and learning more in my healing process and having a better handle on my attacks.

Very comfortable environment, listened intently.

Dr. Pabon is an excellent therapist. He is very easy to talk to and provides a great balance of empathy, humor, and professionalism that makes our sessions very productive. He is very concerned about making sure we are focusing on what is most important to me, while giving me a lot of good insight and perspective on my personal challenges. My only complaint is that sometimes sessions do not start on time, but Dr. Pabon has heard my frustrations and we have worked out a communication arrangement that makes this much less of a concern.
Dr. Pabon was very kind and understanding. He listens very well, gives a great perspective and is able to connect very well with me as a client. I will be back!

Amazing! Very professional, great listener and focused on understanding his patients holistically and giving a thorough diagnosis. Would highly recommend.

First time to a therapist so I didn't really know what to expect and was pretty nervous. However, the nerves quickly dissipated and I felt at ease in his presence. Dr. Pabon made me feel very comfortable and I'm looking forward to continuing therapy with him.
He is a kind & caring man that is well studied in psychology. His methodologies are helping me get back on my feet & providing me with mental clarity.
Would not recommend. Saw him twice. Was very peculiar in that seemed to feel the need to humble brag a lot and would often say things with the presumed intention of making me feel better that actually made me feel worse. Also rescheduled my second appointment at the last minute.
This Doctor is truly a godsend. One of the most helpful, warm, caring people that I have known in my life. He is very understanding, straight-forward, down to earth, and very attentive. All things I was looking for in a therapist. Would highly recommend this man to anyone in the future looking for a therapist. Every time I leave his office, he always puts me at ease and my mind clear. One of the best people I'll ever have the pleasure to have met :)

Dr. Pabon has helped me through many crises. His advice and counsel are always helpful and has helped me cope. He has given me wonderful insight to my problems. He has also helped me with my family problems and has made it easier for me to deal with them, I recently went through a brain tumor scare that caused me to become unstable. He helped me not feel like I was alone and that there were people who would stand by me.

He was very professional and easy to talk to.

Marc is a very genuine person and a very grounded individual. It is clear that he takes care of himself and is conscious of his own mind, which in turn is a great benefit for those he's helping. In the beginning of each session he retains a neutral and open demeanor to assess how you're feeling and how he should proceed. Marc is very good at pinpointing areas in life that need improvement and is able to provide meaningful and helpful support. I have enjoyed each of our sessions and look forward to continuing my journey toward personal growth and happiness.

No pressure. Very kind and accommodating.
Very professional, courteous and attentive.
Dr. Pabon is excellent! Takes his time to really understand what you have to say, there was no rush. For my initial consultation, he allowed for extra time to give me time to become acquainted with the process. I will continue seeing Dr. Pabon to work at achieving the goals we have set. Highly recommended especially for those individuals with limited time during the work week as his hours are very flexible.
