Tiffany Kehoe, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I’m a licensed therapist providing telehealth sessions for clients in New York, Florida, and Connecticut. I work with individuals, teens, and couples who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just tired of carrying the same stress, patterns, or relationship struggles on their own. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and straightforward. Therapy with me isn’t about overanalyzing every detail or just venting without direction—it’s about understanding what’s going on, figuring out what’s actually helpful, and building tools you can use in real life. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with trauma-informed care and sex therapy, to help clients manage anxiety, work through past experiences, and improve communication, trust, and connection. I also have extensive experience working with military members, veterans, law enforcement, and first responders. I understand the pressure to keep it together, the impact of high-stress environments, and how hard it can be to open up. You won’t have to over-explain here—I get it, and we’ll move at a pace that works for you. Whether you’re navigating a difficult relationship, rebuilding after a breakup, working through trauma, or just trying to feel more like yourself again, my goal is to create a space where you can be real, feel supported, and actually make meaningful progress. I offer convenient telehealth appointments and accept several major insurance plans to make getting started as easy as possible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to know that you don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Most people come in feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or even skeptical—and that’s completely okay. I’m a very real, down-to-earth person. I’ll meet you where you are, without judgment, and without making things feel overly clinical or uncomfortable. At the same time, I’m not a “just vent and leave” kind of therapist. I’ll help you understand what’s going on, challenge patterns that aren’t working, and give you practical tools you can actually use outside of session. I value honesty and transparency in the therapy space. You don’t have to filter yourself or say things the “right” way. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, past trauma, relationship struggles, or just feeling stuck, we’ll work through it together at a pace that feels manageable. If you come from a high-stress background—like military, law enforcement, or first responder work—I understand that opening up can be difficult and that trust takes time. You won’t have to over-explain the culture or the pressure you’re under. Most importantly, I want you to know that therapy with me is collaborative. You’re not being talked at or judged—you’re being supported, challenged when needed, and helped to move forward in a way that actually fits your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is collaborative, structured, and tailored to each person I work with. In the first few sessions, we’ll focus on getting a clear understanding of what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been dealing with, and what you’d like to change. I’ll ask questions to get a full picture of your experiences, patterns, relationships, and any past treatment, but it’s always a conversation—not an interrogation. From there, we’ll create a plan together based on your goals. Sessions are active and engaging. We’ll talk through current challenges, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work on practical strategies you can use between sessions. I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, along with trauma-informed and relational approaches, to help you better manage thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. For clients working through trauma, we move at a pace that feels manageable, focusing on building stability and coping skills first. For couples, sessions often focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and understanding underlying dynamics. When appropriate, I also incorporate sex therapy to address intimacy and connection. A typical session is a mix of processing what’s going on in your life and actively working toward change. You’ll leave with insight, but also with concrete tools or perspectives to try outside of session. Overall, my goal is to make therapy feel useful, supportive, and grounded in real-life change—not just something you attend, but something that genuinely helps you move forward.
