Tracey Cox, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi there, I'm Tracey! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who received my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in Minnesota. I have 7 years of experience working with diverse populations, including young adults, the elderly, and working professionals. My approach My approach to treatment includes utilizing evidence-based interventions and genuine care to provide strengths-based, client-centered, outcome-oriented service. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to support clients as they work through barriers to productivity and wellness while developing productive strategies to change and grow. My focus I have worked with individuals facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addiction, substance abuse, and communication challenges. All these individuals have one thing in common: they want to be heard and have a safe place to speak their truth. I find it an honor to listen to and collaborate with clients on their sensitive issues. I strive to be a positive influence and empower clients so that the issues they face do not determine their present or future. My communication style The work I do with clients is sometimes difficult and painful, but time and again I have seen how the benefits of the work outweigh the risks. I am always ready to encourage and join my clients in making a leap of faith from sickness into health. My goals for you I must first find out the issues, and once they have been discussed collaboratively with the client, make sure those are the issues. Then, we can discuss goals. My first session with you You should expect the first session to focus on identifying your issues and concerns, setting goals, and establishing a treatment schedule. Any questions you have will be answered to ensure you feel comfortable.
