I am a Southern Girl from New Orleans, licensed in Georgia and DC, with 28 years of professional social work experience. I am also a US Army Veteran who served in the First Iraq War (Desert Storm 1991). I have been a licensed clinical social worker since 2000 and a social worker since 1996. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans. I love connecting with my clients by providing individualized offerings specific to your needs. I look forward to meeting with you. My approach: I am a mental health professional serving as a Healer with offerings focusing on wellness and somatic practices. I am also a KAP (Kink and Poly Aware Practitioner), specializing in supportive services to those loving bodies in the community, with particular attention to the BIPOC community. Other approaches I use include Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. My focus: I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, women’s issues, trauma, and sex and intimacy-related concerns. My communication style: As a therapist, I often utilize alternative wellness practices like Somatic Practices. You can expect physical approaches to treatment, including relaxation techniques, meditative or breathing exercises, and traditional talk therapy. These practices may help you access how you hold on to experiences in your body. My journey to mental healthcare: I became a social worker following a traumatic childhood event. I had the opportunity to work with a therapist who helped me during a difficult time. I wanted to be that person for someone else, and that started my journey to this work. I love it! My goals for you: I believe you are the expert of your story and have many strengths to assist you in overcoming challenges.
