Getting to know Victor DeBianchi

Our mental health consists of many components: our biology, our psychology, our social environments, and our spiritual lives. Because of the diverse range of human experience, mental health does not benefit from a one-size-fits-all therapy, but rather from creative approaches to treatment. I believe that creativity and mental health are interrelated through their joint emphasis on humanism and empathy. This approach means meeting clients where they already are, using humility, radical acceptance, and creative thinking to learn the power of self-advocacy and achieve self-understanding. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Hunter College, City University of New York, which has further informed my commitment to these values in practice.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a social worker supporting children, adolescents, families, and young adults. I have specialized experience with the LGBTQ+ community, empowering individuals with tools to find acceptance for themselves and their families. I also work with clients experiencing grief and bereavement, trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, and bipolar disorder.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My clinical assessments are strength-based directives that include mindfulness, empowerment, safety planning, and trauma-informed care.
