Getting to know Victoria O'Leary

Victoria (she/her) is a MA of Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a passion for the human experience. She believes that with the right balance of empathetic support and collaboration, we can explore new perspectives to create the acceptance, change, and empowerment necessary to achieve satisfaction and wellbeing. Prior to joining myTherapyNYC, Victoria earned a BS in Finance and worked in the equity research department of a New York based hedge fund for over 20 years. Victoria combines that life experience with genuine enthusiasm for the validation, compassion, and connection that create a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship and the foundation for lasting, healthful change. Victoria uses a person-centered, holistic approach to psychotherapy to support new insights and behaviors by exploring maladaptive thoughts and beliefs. She believes that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and validated. Her motto is “tell me who you are, and I’ll believe you”.

Victoria is a fantastic therapist! She is so curious, understanding, and doesn't judge me.

Victoria was a great therapist. She did a good job of connecting with both Yasi and myself and worked to understand our individual goals. She did a good job of balancing the focus between the two of us and asking insightful questions to get the dialogue going.
Victoria was the perfect provider for us because she understood our backgrounds well (she worked in finance and my fiance works in finance and is also a mother and wife so she understands my POV as I enter a new phase through marriage).
Victoria is very thoughtful, diligent and follows an empathetic style. It was a very fulfilling experience to work with her. She allowed me to follow my own path and guided me back to feeling more centered and resilient.
Victoria was so grounded and easy to talk with. I really felt like she related to me and was coming from the same place even though our lives are so different. A great listener with down to earth help and thought-provoking questions.
Excellent perspective & thoughts which give (gave?) me space to process my feelings in a healthy way, setting me up for success in my personal & professional life.
