William Ndama, MA, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
As a Civil War survivor from Liberia, I am deeply sensitive to human suffering and passionately committed to improving the lives of individuals to help them reach their full potential. My dedication to the mental health field is driven by the belief that one of the noblest things a person can do is to be of service to others. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in mental health hospitals, social service agencies, community outreach programs, a mental health crisis hotline, and have trained the NYPD on mental health and suicide prevention. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies from Indiana University, Bloomington. My clinical experience spans diverse populations, and I strive to be a beacon of hope for those who have endured trauma by helping them find meaning, self-determination, purpose, independence, and autonomy. I use an integrative approach tailored to each individual’s unique needs, incorporating existential therapy to uplift and empower. I have supported individuals facing depression, anxiety, stress, relational challenges, suicidal ideation, maladaptive behaviors, and traumatic or emotionally painful experiences. Additionally, I emphasize trauma-informed care, somatic interventions, and mindfulness techniques to help clients process their past and live confidently and safely in the present.
