“The staff was friendly and professional. The wait time was minimal, in the waiting room. However, after getting drops for the next exam, I was told they take 15 minutes to go ineffect. I had to wait 30 minutes before Dr. Flug saw me. Other than that it was a good experience. ”

About Dr. Adam Flug
Adam J. Flug, MD is a Board-Certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist. Dr. Flug attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Flug then completed his ophthalmology residency at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. He specializes in small-incision cataract surgery, screening and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. He takes care of adult and pediatric patients. In 2009, he founded the Ophthalmology department of ProHEALTH Care Associates, LLP, the medical group now incorporated in Optum, where he currently serves as Vice Chairman of the department. He is actively involved in the training of Ophthalmology residents at Northwell Health (formerly North Shore-LIJ Health System). He lectures frequently on various topics in Ophthalmology. He also serves as an Ophthalmology consultant to the New York Islanders. Dr. Flug has published his clinical research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Hofstra University and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York State Ophthalmology Society.

Overall, it was a good experience. I like being able to make the appointment through Zoc Doc. The staff were friendly and patient. They were prepared when I arrived. My information was in their system and all I needed to do was check in. I would definitely use Zoc Doc again.

Dr. Flug is a very nice and well educated doctor. He’s up on all the current issues of the eyes. He’s an excellent listener and extremely caring. I highly recommend him .. I’m diabetic and he knows how to spot the tiniest of things related to my diabetes.

The experience at the doctor’s office went well. My only concern is that the information about Optum and its new location ought to be much more clear in the text message and links. Otherwise, the care I received was more than satisfactory.

Going to a Dr. is not a pleasant task. Going to Dr. flug is the one exception for me. I have been going to Dr. Flug for 10 years and no matter what the verdict is Dr Flug is a straight shooter. He is a consummate professional with great bedside manners who is there when you need him. Take it from me, Dr. Flug is the man. He has an assistant who is Ms. M. Torres who takes care of you like a guardian ANGEL and who is absolutely physically stunning. Together Dr. Flug and Ms. Torres are the dynamic duo that take care of my one working eye.
