Hello, I'm Dr. Adria Hickson, and I'm delighted to be part of your journey towards mental well-being. With ten years of experience in the field of psychology, I am a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to helping you navigate life's challenges and achieve your personal goals. I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and I also hold master’s and specialist degrees in Education in School Psychology from Georgia State University, along with a bachelor’s in psychology from Spelman College. My diverse background includes working in integrated healthcare and college counseling centers, where I provided psychotherapy to adults, undergraduate, and graduate students. In private practice, I have completed psychological evaluations for both adults and children, addressing academic concerns and diagnosing various psychological disorders. As a certified school psychologist, I have also worked in Georgia public schools (K-12), conducting psychoeducational evaluations and collaborating with school counselors, social workers, administrators, teachers, and parents to support student needs. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, understanding, and a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment. I specialize in treating ADHD, anxiety, depression, developmental disabilities, family and intimate relationships, learning disorders, life transitions, multicultural and diversity issues, OCD, and stress. Whether we meet in person or through SonderMind Video Telehealth, my goal is to provide you with the tools and insights needed to overcome obstacles and thrive. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy exploring the diverse cultural cuisines in the metro Atlanta area, volunteering, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
