Education & Professional Experience Dr. Velasco earned his bachelor’s degree in Biochemical and Biophysical Sciences from the University of Houston before pursuing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During his time in optometry school, he was recognized with multiple Letters of Excellence for his work in the Family Practice and Contact Lens Clinics. His passion for myopia management and specialty contact lenses began early in his career. As a founding member of the Myopia Management Summer Immersion internship program, Dr. Velasco developed a deep understanding of slowing myopia progression in children using specialty lenses and eye drop therapies. He later established and led the Contact Lens Club. Dr. Velasco gained valuable hands-on experience through his clinical training at Bellaire Family Eye Care, UH Eye Center at the Heights, Vision One Eyecare, and Clear Lake Eye Center. Personal & Community Connection Dr. Velasco is proud to return to Conroe, the community that shaped his journey and fueled his passion for helping others through vision care. Having grown up in the area, he is excited to provide personalized eye care to local families, ensuring every patient receives the attention, expertise, and compassionate service they deserve. When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Velasco enjoys exploring new places, staying active, and spending time with family and friends.
