About Dr. Alan Kaufman
Dr. Alan Kaufman is a Board Certified allergist in private practice for over 28 years. An allergist is a physician who is trained to diagnose and treat patients suffering from allergies, asthma and other immune system disorders. Dr. Kaufman graduated from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center/New York Medical College. He completed his Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has been in private practice in The Bronx and Mount Vernon since 1989. He is an Attending Physician and Director of Allergy and Immunology in the Department of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center North Division. He previously managed the Allergy clinic at Montefiore Medical Center North Division for over 20 years. Dr. Kaufman is a consultant at Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville, New York. In addition, He is as a consultant physician at Lenox Hill Hospital / Northwell Health in New York City.
Dr. Kaufman has been a principal investigator in over 50 clinical trials for Asthma, Allergies, Hives and new medications in development for patients suffering from chronic allergies and asthma.
Dr. Kaufman has consistently received outstanding physician recognition awards in Castle Connolly directory, New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine Top Doctors and Patients Choice Awards. He is board certified and recertified in both internal medicine and allergy/immunology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

The doctor left the room during the check up for an hour. He was keep doing that. I was in the room for almost 2 hours. He was the only one that was working there. There was no staffs. very poor service by the doctor. Wouldn’t recommend!

As I got there the doctor was a little standoff. His bed side Manner horrible. He literally see me while he was standing in the hall way. No test just pure guess for my diagnostic. I felt that he was scared to examine me. I will never go back or recommend any one to visit this place . Horrible serve.

My appointment was rushed & I couldn’t really connect or speak to the doctor in depth because he was the only one working the office. There was no receptionist or any other person working the office. I found out what was wrong with me because I spoke to my mom who once dealt with the same thing.

I would not refer anyone to this doctor. He was very rude and had a condescending attitude. Doesn’t listen well and forgot the order in which he had done my allergy test. Plus his office was too far down E. Tremont. I would have considered traveling that far of a distance but for someone who understands 6 people

I dont recommend this doctor because he was very rude, i didnt feel heard, he kept cutting me off, huffing and puffing as if he was annoyed at me because i was taking a lung test and I waited very long. The office Employees were very nice. They deserve a better employer.

Will not recommend coming here! He did not listen to me and talked over me when I would try to explain my symptoms. I waited in the waiting room for over an hour, then they took me into the patients room to wait for another 30 minutes. I think he overbooks and has is patients waiting around for him honestly. The only okay thing was the front desk woman who was nice. I also heard the doctor being rude to the front desk woman which I felt uncomfortable after hearing how he spoke to her.

After being there I understand the arrogant reviews. Did not want to listen to what I had to say, he sat on the phone in the other room arguing with someone for half the time, kept shaking his head whenever I explained my symptoms & living conditions & dressed like a gym teacher. I got a weird feeling when I got there but I figured I’d follow through with the visit and although I got some useful information about treatments I don’t think I will be returning for the follow up.
