Undergraduate Education: LeTourneau University - Bachelor of Science in Biology. Optometry School: Southern College of Optometry – 2018. Professional Achievements and Associations: Texas Optometric Association; American Optometric Association. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Completed an Optometric Primary Care Residency at the Memphis VA Medical Center. The reason I became an optometrist is: To help people daily in a tangible way; whether that means adjusting their glasses prescription so they can read the newspaper each morning, fitting a teen in contact lenses for the first time, or taking care of that corneal abrasion after getting scratched in the eye. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Getting to know them on a personal level. Learning who they are and what they like to do not only help me determine the best solutions to their optical needs, but also makes the workday feel more like a visit with friends! In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my family, usually outdoors. My husband competes professionally in disc golf, so you can generally find us at one of East Texas’ several disc golf courses!
