Getting to know Dr. Amber Testa
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and as though it’s interfering with accomplishing our goals. While we can’t always eliminate a stressful situation or the uncomfortable thoughts and feelings we sometimes experience as we go through life, we can work together in a solution-focused approach to help you navigate life’s challenges and reconnect with what matters most to you.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting adults through anxiety, depression, grief & loss, and major life transitions. Whether you’re facing a recent change, feeling stuck, or looking to strengthen coping skills and relationships, I’m here to help. I know that seeking support is a significant step and I’m here for you. I have experience in ACT, CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based interventions, which I hope can be helpful on your journey.
Please note that I use a platform called Headway to manage my practice. After booking you will be sent directions to set up a Headway account. By providing your phone number and email address during booking, you agree to receive communications via email, phone call and/or text message from or on behalf of Headway and myself about your appointment, registration, insurance & payment information, and treatment.

What should a new client know about working with you?
I specialize in online care that offers a safe space and provides services and support for those working to build self-esteem, reduce anxiety and depression, strengthen coping skills and improve their relationships. My personal style is candid, curious, and action-oriented, and I most frequently utilize CBT and ACT approaches. We will explore your goals and values, learn to identify how moods, thoughts, and behavioral responses impact one another and can keep us feeling "stuck", look at common thinking errors, and explore cognitive restructuring and defusion exercises.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
