About Dr. Amit Sood
Dr. Amit Sood completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he graduated with James Scholar Honors. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at Rutgers- New Jersey Medical School where he was elected as the administrative chief resident.
Following his residency, Dr. Sood advanced his training by completing a shoulder fellowship at the prestigious Harvard Medical School affiliated with the Boston Shoulder Institute and trained with internationally respected shoulder surgeons including Dr. Jon JP Warner, Dr. Lawrence Higgins, and Dr. Matthew Provencher. Dr. Sood further advanced his training by completing a visiting international travelling shoulder fellowship in France where he trained with world-renown shoulder surgeons including Dr. Laurent Lafosse in Annecy, France, Dr. Pascal Boileau in Nice, France, and Dr. Gilles Walch in Lyon, France.
Dr. Sood has authored various peer-reviewed scientific papers, surgical techniques, and book chapters. He has presented his research at national and international meetings and also given lectures and presentations to his colleagues at orthopedic conferences across the country.
Dr. Sood specializes in the comprehensive management of all disorders of the shoulder utilizing shoulder arthroscopy, reconstruction, and replacement including total shoulder arthroplasty and reverse shoulder arthroplasty.
Dr. Sood also provides full orthopedic care with the non-surgical and surgical management of disorders involving the elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. Treatment includes general orthopedics, fractures, and total joint arthroplasty including hip and knee replacement.

I highly recommend this office. My zocdoc appointment did not go through, and I didn't know so I showed up. They fit me in immediately anyway, took my XRays, gave me a consultation and a cortisone shot and got me set up for PT. The entire staff was truly amazing, especially to a brand new patient!

Great experience but if I hadn’t read a previous review stating that I should confirm the appt. I would’ve show up and NOT had an appointment on the books. Issue with Zocdoc not the office. When I called they said the time I booked was not available but booked me right away with another time that worked.

Being in the medical profession, and knowing what goes on "behind the scenes," I am a very critical consumer and patient. That being said, what an amazing experience I had with Dr Sood and his entire staff. From the on-line check-in process to the warm 1st greeting, the beautiful office reflects the overall experience. Dr. Sood is personable, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. He listens, explains everything in easy to understand terms, and comes up with a game plan to fit your lifestyle. Bottom line: Nobody wants an aching shoulder, a tennis elbow, or a bum knee....but if you have any type of orthopedic problem, this is where you want to "hobble" to:)

After my injury 2 years ago. i have not gotten the help i deserve from previous doctors. I traveled from Dutchess County ny (1hr 20min) to see this doctor. Dr. Amit Sood was one of the nicest most understanding orthopedic doctors i have seen since my lower back injury. He was very thorough with his examination and understood all of my symptoms. He seems to care very much for his patients. He explains everything very clearly and is very knowledgeable about lower back problems.
I wish i saw him sooner. I would recommend anyone and everyone to this office.

Dr. Sood was very professional and personable. Above all, he was very compassionate while explaining what might be wrong with my hands and what might be the cause of the problem. Above all, I liked very much that not only he explained how to treat me, but also asked if I was at all satisfied with what he suggested as treatment course and if he was meeting with my expectations. I am really glad that I found Dr. Sood and I am now just looking forward to a - hopefully - full recovery.

Dr. Sood is great! He spent a good amount of time with me and showed me my MRI on a digital screen. Dr. Sood didn't push me to do therapy. He recommended physical therapy instead. Will definitely come back!
