Dr. Amy Bloomgarden graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University. She received her medical degree at the University of Chicago – Pritzker School of Medicine, where she graduated at the top of her class and was awarded membership to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society. She completed her residency training at Columbia University – New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she was selected as administrative chief resident and recognized for her surgical skill with a distinctive award from the Society of Gynecological Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. Dr Bloomgarden is a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist, a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and an attending and clinical assistant professor at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Dr. Bloomgarden has received numerous additional academic accolades during her studies and training including the Gates Pharmaceutical Award for outstanding performance in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, the American Medical Women’s Association Award, and several prestigious teaching awards.
Dr Bloomgarden has a comprehensive clinical practice. She welcomes women for preventative care, contraception, and pregnancy planning as well as for management of the full range of gynecological issues including dysfunctional bleeding, abnormal paps, PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, and menopause. Dr. Bloomgarden is simply the best. I was referred to her 10+ years ago, and I am so grateful to have her on my medical team. She has always taken time to talk and explain everything as well as answer all of my questions. She is prompt with appointment times but never seems rushed or bothered by my granular questions. She also has great people she refers to (surgeons, urologists, etc.) which makes a big difference knowing they are already vetted. She is kind, warm, and most of all, great at her job. If you're looking for a new OB/gyn, I highly recommend her!
