At Medical Care for Women in Astoria, New York and Jamaica, New York, Andrea Olanescu, MD, serves each of her patients with quality, compassionate care. She founded Medical Care for Women because she knows that each woman is unique — as is her life. At her practice, Dr. Olanescu tailors her approach and her medical services to each woman’s specific needs.
After earning her MD at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania, Dr. Olanescu broadened her expertise through an internal medicine residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and an OB/GYN residency at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. Today, she is a fellow of the American Board of Internal Medicine and of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

This was my first time with this provider to complete a standard annual exam. After this experience, I will never return.
First, I waited well over an hour to be seen. During this time I filled out extensive paperwork, then was called over to a different receptionist where she asked me the same questions that I already answered. I’m sure why this needed to be done.
Second, I walked into a room where I was told to change and put on a “robe”. This wasn’t a robe, it was more like a flat napkin. I have a petite figure and this was even too small for me. Not to mention the room I was in had windows, which had semi transparent shades where I could still see into the parking lot. This was very uncomfortable.
Third, a woman finally walked in, except it was not the doctor, it was her PA. She asked next to no questions and was super unclear when I asked her if the follow up appt. was necessary. Standard is to call me and tell me my results. I will be looking for a new doctor.

genuinely not sure i would recommend this office. the tech that roomed me was very lovely — zoe — but the tech that took my vitals was extremely unpleasant. she added placeholder numbers for blood pressure, heart rate, etc. which doesn’t reflect an accurate vital check. the NP who saw me for my annual was fine, little bedside manner, hardly performed the breast exam for the appointment and genuinely did a poor pelvic exam. just really felt like they wanted to get you in and get you out as quick as possible. my ultrasound experience was very strange. the woman was incredibly unprofessional and didn’t wear gloves during the exam — she also was very casual with her body during the exam; resting her arm and side body on my leg that was in the stirrups. the floors also felt so incredibly disgusting that i was uncomfortable taking my shoes off to get onto the table after i undressed.

I scheduled for an appointment in this location and when i got there, the place was packed. I had no idea how the doctor was going to see all of these patients, and true enough I did not get to meet her for my supposed consult. I was interviewed in a window and after a few minutes, was called in a room and there was a PA that did the assessments and asked the same questions that was already asked of me. When I told her my concerns and reason for coming into the clinic, she asked me what I wanted done (labs, test, etc). Shouldnt that be her job to help diagnose me? anyway I asked to see the Doctor after but she told me it will take long because the Dr was doing procedures for the day. Then why would they accept schedules for consult under her name when she's unavailable for the rest of the patients?? There was also no follow ups from the office even just to update about labs result. It was a wasted use of my insurance and time off.

I didn't see the Dr, because when I arrived, I was told there was at least a 90 minute wait even though I made an appointment and there was about 40 people in the waiting room. This place is more like a clinic and to book so many people hinders the care and attention you get from a provider. This didnt feel like a private doctor which is the type of setting I thought it would be.
