Psychologist

Hello, I'm Anne. I've always been complimented on my listening skills, which led me to start my training in counseling at Colgate University, where I served as a resident advisor. During my time there, I also ran cross country and track, connecting with people from all backgrounds. It became crystal clear to me that early experiences and choices can set a person down an unwanted negative path and create patterns that do not lead to the life that one wants. This contributes to depression, anxiety, addiction, and countless maladaptive behaviors. My perspective was broadened through employment at a drug rehabilitation facility. I then completed my doctorate and did an internship at both a state hospital and a community mental health facility. I simultaneously ran a group home for five years on the weekends. I remained onsite for the entire time and was saddened to see that after mental health appointments, some immediately returned to their negative behaviors. That experience was formative in that it made me extra conscious of making certain that whoever I work with in the future would have increased insight and feel empowered to integrate our sessions into a daily routine. I like the phrase 'talk is cheap'. Over the last 20 years, I have served adults in both private practice and correctional facilities. My clinical focus has included, but is not limited to, depression, anxiety, self-care/wellness, addiction, readiness to change, anger management, trauma recovery, personality dynamics, values clarification, and skills building. My ideal client is someone who has either a chronic or more recent struggle and is ready to put in the work to move through whatever is undesirable. And if you have had numerous therapists and continue to feel stuck, let's talk about obstacles to change and what could be better this go around.

She was extremely nice, but her word of advice wasn’t super good. It honestly felt like I was just talking to myself majority of the session. A lot of awkward pauses and I didn’t honestly receive much from that session. She’s extremely nice though once again! But, I wouldn’t recommend for people who have BPD. ?
