PLEASE NOTE: Dr. Weitzner does not fit or script contact lenses. I am a board certified ophthalmologist practicing general ophthalmology in private practice for over 20 years. For the past five years I also teach part time at the ophthalmology program at Kings County Hospital, where I supervise residents in the clinic and operating room, where I focus on challenging medical and surgical cases. I apply this experience to the benefit of my private patients, where I tackle difficult cases and adopt the latest techniques, including multifocal and astigmatic strategies for cataract and astigmatism, implant exchange and I-Stent for glaucoma. I live by the highest ethical standards- doing anything to a patient for the sake of making more money violates everything I believe in as a human being. Some implants and lasers can have side effects and cost thousands of dollars, and many patients are not good candidates- that's when having an honest ophthalmologist really comes in handy. Our office is a large, state-of-the-art facility with the latest in electronic records, diagnostic testing and lasers. We have trained technicians, optometrists, an elegant optical service, and we have several sub-specialists, so that we can provide comprehensive excellence. I look forward to seeing you!

I appreciated his humor and frankness.
Excellent overall visit. Dr. Weitzner is a highly competent professional that is good about explaining every aspect of the examination. Entire staff was pleasant, efficient and helpful, as well.
Great staff, friendly, professional and efficient
send me to my general practitioner to do a second evaluation for a condition that I was previously tested and I was negative. Refused to give me the new prescription. After my general practitioner tested me again (negative results as expected) he suggested going to another ophthalmologist who indicated that my problem required a new prescription and some stress reduction techniques.
He exhibited a perfect blend of friendliness and nonsenselessness. I liked him. He helped me out. I will go to him again, should some disaster or another require me to do so.
I liked that Dr. Weitzner was patient and welcoming with my questions and took time to review my problem, as well as help me with advice/answers on a bunch of questions I had that were not directly related to the problem for which I had come to see him (general eye health questions).
A well mannered matter of fact person, clear in explaining the issue and ready to answer patiently all my questions.
Staff was very friendly and Dr. Weitzner was very attentive and answered all of my questions.
Not very informative.
Doctor was fine. Office is grim. Front desk staff sullen and sloppy. Had to fill-in all my paperwork and confirm insurance details again despite having completed previously online via zocdoc. Brushed off with: 'Oh yes, that doesn't come through on our system, you'll have to do it all again'. Waited over 45 mins to be seen despite an almost empty waiting room and having arrived 15mins prior to scheduled time. Try somewhere else.
I felt Dr. Weitzner was short, dismissive and rude. I was incredibly disappointed in his consultation, especially considering the politeness and welcoming nature of his assisting staff.
Doctor was good. Took the time to explain things when asked. Otherwise efficiency was valued. The office shuffles you around a lot so you go back and fourth between waiting and seeing someone a few times. I was seen quickly but was at the office for an hour and a half.
We spoke about my condition and he gave me some great advice
It would have been nice to understand that I could not get my contacts prescriptions renewed through Dr. Weitzner.
The doctor's staff was very kind, courteous, and got my exam started quickly. The process took awhile because I had to get my eyes dilated and wait for pictures. But the doctor's exam was quick and easy. Dr. Weitzner answered my questions and was very nice.
First visit, it was good. No waiting time, doctor and assistant very helpful.
Had to wait 45 min after appt time, but otherwise was good.
Very professional and great doctor.
Nice, straight to the point, and offered multiple options.
I felt completely at ease. He answered all my questions and was very pleasant. I will definitely be going back to see him!
Dr Weitzner is certainly professionally competent. But the time management in his office and in his own clinic needs to improve.
Great doctor very carring took care of the problem
I liked Dr. Weitzner. But I waited over an hour at the clinic.
Dr. Weitzner is a very good doctor. He took care of my issue very quickly. The office on the other hand leave much to be desired. I waited for over an hour. The waiting room was dirty and the bathrooms at Yankee stadium after a game are cleaner than the bathrooms there. It also felt like I was waiting at a psych ward, with adults screaming and wondering around as if they have been drugged and just starring into the abyss. just a bad vibe. The staff at the reception were less than helpful and very impersonal.
Professional...Reassuring & kind.. Smart!!
Dr. Weitzner did not seem to care. I came in with extensive eye pain for two weeks, worsening vision. He looked at my eyes for about 30 seconds and said I was fine. I kept asking what I could do, as every day activities are becoming difficult from the pain. He just shrugged and said he did not see anything wrong with my eyes and sent me home with the suggestion of using lubricating eye drops. My next step is to make an appointment with another doctor. I would not recommend him.
This place is like a clinic, or "zoo", that see too many people at the same time. Be ready to sit down and wait to be seen by the doctor, especially after the technician has dilated your pupils.
Efficient and helpful office staff. Dr. Weirzner has a great bedside manner. Very nice and comforting during procedure.
excellent professional and thorough
I was given a very thorough exam . Dr Ari is very professional and detail oriented. He took time when examing my eyes and also when explaining his results.. He is obviously very intelligent and really knows his stuff. I highly recommend him.
Waiting room was packed full of disgruntled people. I was seen by a different eye doctor first. He was really nice during my exam. Then he gave me the eye drops that make you blind and I waited for Dr. W. He wasn't as nice as the other Dr. But towards the end oy examination he started to laugh and joke with me. So overall I'd go back.
The Doctor Himself was ok, sort of nice, nothing special. His assistant Marta was very nice and explained a lot. the FONT DESK was BAD, they seem SO UNHAPPY to be there, no smile, no explanation, no caring about their patients.
Excellent doctor! Got me in and out of there very efficiently, while maintaining great quality care.
2nd visit and very thorough. Good with answering questions directly and completely.
Dr. Weitzner is kind, but his practice is unprofessional. They have very long waits, make no effort to inform patients about them, and the facility is quite dirty (the bathrooms look like they haven't been cleaned in months!). While Dr. Weitzner was nice, I will not return to this practice.
The doctor was professional, kind, land listened to me describe my eye problem that I was experiencing.
-Great doctor! I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Weitzner was very knowledgable, quick, but thorough. I will definitely see him again for my next eye appointment.
The receiving nurse was abrupt and was quick to get on with taking my eye measurements which made for an uncomfortable examination with the instruments. The doctor was just OK but could improve his bedside manner. I found him somewhat standoffish. I would go hear again, but only because they already have my history on file.
Comfortable to talk with and felt he took time to really go.through next steps.
He was just perfect.
The long wait time was due to referral issues but the staff was very helpful so I'm sure the next visit will be much quicker
he was knowledgeable and helped to ease concerns. the office staff was very friendly it was a pleasant experience. I highly recommend. the office also seems to have many areas to be serviced. seems like a very well equipped and all inclusive office
Have been all around very satisfied thanks
The doctor was nice, but the place was horrible. I paid a copay they got my insurance card and then without billing the insurance they sent a bill for collection. They are really unorganized and I won't be coming back.
The staff was particularly rude and unfriendly. I'm not sure what to say of the diagnosis just yet - but I am not pleased with the service I received.
He is a good doctor.
Both the assistant and the doctor are very thourough and professional.
Crowded, slightly chaotic-seeming office, with uninformative people at the front desk. ("I have no idea how long the wait will be.") Off-putting to be required to submit co-pay before seeing the doctor. Doctor himself rather cold and impatient, though seemed to do thorough exam and give competent advice. Will not go back, however.
Staff was curtious and efficient. Wait time was minimal including the filling out of forms. Dr.Weitzner was very professional and knowledgeable. I was in and out in less than an hour. I will be using him as my eye doctor, for sure.
He was very helpful and professional.
Very professional, not a long wait and clear answer to the problem
Very professional and knowledgeable.
Dr. Weitzner was professional and very nice. He told me what was wrong and calmed my nerves. Great doctor! Please be aware that if you have a Choice Copay card, the copay will not got through on your card because their transactions come through as a retail business?
He lets you know that he is an ophthalmologist and not a optometrist. He doesn't check your eyes to give you a prescription for glasses. He treats patients who have diseases of the eye .. He lets you know his philosophy up front. and you can read it on zocdoc. Got an appointment the next day. He diagnosed my problem and is very conservative (which I think is good) and doesn't prescribe medication unless it is needed. Got taken very quickly and did not sit in the office for hours.
Professional. Courteous. Friendly. Anxious to please. Very knowledgeable.
Fine. He is very efficient.
If you talk fast (not take up much of his time), he will respond to non-emergency questions/comments. Always polite, pleasant, helpful.
Very professional and nice doctor that takes time to explain thing to you. He has a good combination of old school and new technology to diagnose and treat problems of the eye. Usually a fast appointment.
Granted that I arrive early for my appointment, I was seen right away and was able to leave the office in about 30 minutes after I arrive. I was very satisfy with the care I received from Dr. Weitzner.
great experience, highly recommended
He is a bright, knowledgeable and compassionate Doctor. He is always up on the latest developments and will always take time to answer your questions.
He is an excellent doctor, I just wish there wasn't such a long wait to see him.
It was interested and informative, The doctor was very professional and I was happy
He is very professional and pleasant and caring. I would highly recommend him as a top Eye Doctor.
I hope he stays well and informative for a long time.
He is a GREATTTTT doctor, he has been taking care of my eyes for about 13 years now and he just finished a glaucoma surgery on my eye!!!!!!! I would recommend him to everyone he does great work and cares about what he does!!
A great doctor, caring and very knowledgeable.
Doctor Weitzner is very knowledgable, professional and nice. I would recommend him to my friends.
Excellent doctor, clearly very knowledgable and very patient with questions. There was some confusion when I got there because they didn't have me on the schedule even though I clearly got a confirmation through zocdoc. I have no idea what that was about but they handled things very well at the reception area and got me in without any real issue.
Doctor helped me with my health issues
Dr. Weitzner was very gentle and understanding towards my 18 mth child, he addressed all my concerns.
He's a great guy! Been my doctor since I was 19! Always pleasant and explains everything from a to z
Dr. Weitzner performed a very thorough ophthalmic examination; he is clearly dedicated to his work and takes his professional mandate and his patients seriously. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a first rate ophthalmologist.
I think that his bedside manner was inviting and comforting. I felt confident that he knew exactly what he was doing and looking for. Great Job!!! Dr. Ari.
I was a patient of his father, Walter Weitzner, before Dr. Ari took over after his father's retirement and have been very satisfied with both these professionals.
He was great!! I was seen on time and he made my eye all better :)
good dr. short wait. good attention.
I love Dr. Weitzner. He is solid, professional and I am very comfortable with him. He had treated me in the past for an eye infection. The treatment that another doctor prescribed could have resulted in serious problems with my eyesight. Dr. Weitzner put me on a regimen of drops which resulted in clearing the infection in a very short period of time.
A friendly professional.
quick wait, good doctor, listened to problems and took time to explain
