I now limit myself to medical and surgical diseases of the eyes- I no longer prescribe/check glasses or fit contact lenses, and we do not sell eyeglass frames. I recommend that patients see their local optometrist for these issues, as they are experts in that field and conveniently sell glasses.
I am an ophthalmologist with over 20 years experience. I hold an active, part-time teaching position at Kings County Medical Center (SUNY/Downstate Medical School) where I teach surgical procedures in traumatic/complicated cataract, glaucoma and pterygium, and I am also Assistant Clinical Professor at Albert Einstein.
I have a reputation for honesty and ethics. I only recommend tests or procedures when they are absolutely in the patient's interest. Doing anything to a patient for the sake of making more money violates everything I believe in as a human being.
I examine patients of all ages. I perform excellent surgery and use the latest implants. I use the latest in laser, digital and computerized instruments.
I take my time with my patients. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and I do not want to miss anything or get careless by feeling rushed.
