Dr. Ashkan Salamatipour is a board-certified Sports Medicine and Non-Operative Orthopedic physician and founder of OC Musculoskeletal Medical Center (OC MSK) in Newport Beach, California. My elbow pain had been getting worse over the last 6 months while playing pickleball, and I heard from my friend that Dr. Salamatipour was really good so I gave him a chance. I was tremendously pleased with the time and care he took to do the evaluation by reviewing all my prior test results, doing an exam and even scanning my elbow with the ultrasound to show me where the issue was. He then gave me several treatment strategies to pick from, and I opted for the "needle tenotomy" procedure which was surprisingly quick and easy (did same day in the office and I walked right out after). I'm roughly 2 weeks out from the injection and about 90-95% of my pain has already disappeared this early on! He's been walking me through a rehab plan as well and I feel incredibly hopeful that I can return to active life without constantly thinking of pain. Thank you for everything!

I went to OC MSK for my ongoing shoulder pain that hasn't improved with pills and therapy. I even saw a surgeon who told me there were no good options. When I found Dr. Ash he had several recommendations and I chose to do a PRP injection since I wanted to get back to tennis as soon as possible, and I'm really glad I did. After the first few days my pain quickly improved and now I'm able to go about my day without the constant shots of pain in my shoulder.

Dr. Ash was very helpful in helping me with my elbow pain. He listened to my issue, looked at my MRI, and suggested what was best for me. I do appreciate when a doctor is honest about what is most likely to help versus doing unnecessary procedures.

Great experience and finally some relief with my heel pain. Other places I have gone to have not provided results or just recommend going straight to surgery. Physical therapy even made it worse. I highly recommend him.

I went in to be seen for my nagging hip pain thats been bothering me since college, and Dr. Salamatipour helped diagnose and treat me quicker than I could have expected. I had an MRI done within a week, and he brought me back for a tendon injection procedure which has already begun fixing the pain. The whole experience was very reassuring and I'm on track to begin training for my upcoming race without pain.

I had a great experience with Dr. Salamatipour. He was incredibly attentive and thorough throughout my visit. He took the time to carefully review all of my documents and medical history, listened closely to my concerns, and never made me feel rushed.
What stood out most was the genuine amount of time and attention he gave me. It felt like he truly wanted to understand what I’ve been dealing with rather than just getting through the appointment. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and very engaged throughout the entire visit.
It’s not always easy to find a doctor who takes this much time with a patient, and I really appreciated the level of care he provided. I would definitely recommend Dr. Salamatipour to anyone looking for a physician who is thorough, attentive, and genuinely invested in his patients.

Hidden gem. Even though I was out of network, the office was able to accommodate me and do a same-day knee drainage/injection. I payed less than what I would have even with my regular doctor's office. I'm feeling better already, and everything was clearly explained. 10/10

Dr. Ashkan helped me a ton with shoulder pain I got from playing volleyball. I liked that he specializes in sports medicine and non-surgical orthopedics — he actually took the time to walk me through my options instead of rushing me out the door. Shoulder's doing way better now and I'm back on the court. Would definitely recommend him to anyone dealing with a sports injury.

I have been dealing with chronic neck pain for years and have tried so many things, including acupuncture, massage, and chiropractic treatments, without much relief. Dr. Salamatipour really took the time to listen and understand what I was going through. He did ultrasound-guided hydrodissection injections and also prescribed a cream for my pain. His injections and the cream are the only things that have given me real relief in years. I am so thankful I found him and would highly recommend him to anyone struggling with chronic neck pain.
