About Dr. Aylin Unsal
Please note that Dr. Aylin Unsal has hospital privileges at NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital, located at 170 William Street, New York, NY 10038, where your baby’s delivery will take place. Her office does not facilitate transfers to NYP WCM Alexandra Cohen Hospital unless deemed medically necessary by your physician.
Dr. Unsal will see patients who are at least 7 weeks into their pregnancy and may reschedule appointments if applicable. Once you have booked your appointment, you will receive a phone call or email from the office to review a few important details needed prior to your visit.
Originally from New Jersey with roots in Istanbul, Turkey, Dr. Unsal attended Georgetown University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology of Global Health with a research focus. She then worked at the National Institutes of Health conducting clinical research on the effects of long-term HIV infection in perinatally infected patients. Dr. Unsal earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rutgers Health/Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. During residency, she continued clinical research focusing on family planning for patients with medical co-morbidities and maintains a strong interest in caring for this population.

We are immensely grateful to Dr. Unsal for guiding us through a flawless childbirth experience, although I was seeing another doctor in the practice throughout the pregnancy. Dr. Unsal's professionalism shone throughout the process, instilling in us a sense of security and trust. She handled any tearing issue with great finesse, applying gel and speech therapy, ensuring a smoother recovery. We kept communicating during the delivery. Dr.Unsal relaxes the atmosphere and optimizes the process. Once again, thank you to Dr. Unsal, love epidural, love Dr. Unsal's team??!

Dr. Unsal is an amazing, compassionate and skilled OBGYN. I was seeing another doctor at this practice but she was the one with me during my delivery. My husband and I had very upsetting, highly sensitive circumstances and she guided us through every step of the way. She was so comforting and informative so both of us felt very safe. I highly recommend her.
