About Dr. Brandon Anhalt
Dr. Brandon Anhalt (he/him) joined Northwestern Women’s Health Associates in 2023. He provides full-range obstetric and gynecologic care for his patients through all stages of life and for patients from all backgrounds. His specialties include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, which encompasses a variety of pelvic surgery, including both laparoscopic and vaginal approaches to hysterectomy.
Dr. Anhalt is dedicated to providing comprehensive and thoughtful care to everyone that comes his way. His patient-centered approach fosters a secure and inclusive environment, particularly for members of the LGBTQ+ community. He is a strong proponent of transgender health and gender-affirming care. Driven by the principles of patient advocacy and shared medical decision-making, he prioritizes addressing patients' questions and alleviating concerns.
His approach to prenatal care is to give his patients the most up to date and evidence-based information and recommendations. Pregnancy is a special time for both new families and those looking to grow their families. Dr. Anhalt strives to make his patients feel safe and taken care of during this unique time.
Other interests include abnormal menstruation, postmenopausal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, uterine polyps, contraception and family planning, and abnormal pap smears.
He is an OB/GYN at Northwestern Memorial Hospital/Prentice Women’s Hospital, where he has been recognized for his outstanding teaching for current and future doctors.
Dr. Anhalt earned a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Arizona and a Medical Degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He went on to complete his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he served as the Chief Administrative Resident. During his time in Arizona, he was recognized for his excellence in laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

The entire experience was wonderful. I was initially very leary of a male doctor, I assumed many things. When he walked in the door he had the kindest eyes, he was actually kind, he listened to me, and he helped me. It was just something about him that put me totally at ease and I appreciated that more than anything.

As a trans man, accessing gynecological care can be very uncomfortable and dysphoria inducing. That being said, I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Anhalt. He did a great job at making me feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe during every step of the visit.

I’ve never been to a doctor who has taken every concern I had and actively listened. One of the best appointments of my life. He has excellent therapeutic communication, is passionate about his job, and cares about patients. I asked if he could be my primary doctor during this one visit. That is very telling. I wasn’t rushed; I felt safe, and he always asked for permission during exams and before proceeding. He is amazing!! As someone who has PTSD, it could be challenging with providers and gyn exams. I had no problem with this doctor. He listened, alleviated my worries, took his time, and gave me lots of respect for me and my privacy. For the first time, I felt that there was no judgment and I could be as vulnerable as I’d like with my symptoms, complaints, or health. Thank you for being a model doctor. I wish I had met you so much sooner. He is so awesome. The reviews did not steer me wrong. He is all of this plus more
