About Dr. Buffie Mock
Dr. Mock grew up in Nevada, Missouri, and attended Southwest Baptist University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri, St. Louis Optometry School. During her education, she was active in many organizations, including Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity, and participated in a mission trip to El Salvador, providing eye exams and glasses to individuals who otherwise lacked access to vision care.
Dr. Mock practices full-scope optometry for children and adults, including the treatment of ocular pathologies such as dry eye and glaucoma, as well as fitting contact and spectacle lenses.
She began working with Burlingame Vision Associates in 2000 and joined the practice permanently as part of Burlingame & Mock Vision Associates in 2008. Dr. Mock has served as secretary/treasurer, vice-president, and president of the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City and is a current member of the Kansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Outside of optometry, her interests include playing piano, jogging, cooking, and participating in church activities. She and her husband, Kevin, have two daughters, Addyson and Rhyan.

It was a great experience I arrived earlier than my app and someone had called saying they were going to be late so they switched our app times around and I got seen shortly after that, everyone was so friendly and so joyful, I work in healthcare as well, you don’t see a lot of friendly clinics like this one.

The front desk gave me a hard time about not completing my new patient paperwork online, even though I came in 15 minutes early to complete it. That put a bad taste in my mouth.
But everyone else (Dr. Mock, the nurse, and the person who helped me pick out my glasses) were WONDERFUL! They were very thorough with my exam and walked me through each step. I had a lot of fun picking out my new frames and I look forward to my next appointment!

I was hesitant to go so far for an optometrist appointment, since I live in KCMO but it was well-worth it!
The staff was nothing but professional and courteous. When I initially setup my appointment online, I was sent a message via email and text to contact the office before my office. There are forms one needs to fill out before an appointment and they can be done so on their website or in person at the office.
Upon arrival, you are asked to wait in your car and wear a mask. Once it is time for your appointment, a staff will come out and greet you.
Dr. Mock was warm, friendly, patient and overly thorough.
I love her professionalism and "bedside" manner. I can see why her and her staff deserve a 5-star rating. Can't wait for my follow-up appointment.

I was 20 minutes late for my appointment today. However, the receptionist and technician were able to quickly helped me to register and perform all testing needed before seeing Dr. Mock. I am able to walk out of the office within one hour with everything I needed. I am very happy with the results and recommendations I received from Dr. Mock. I will come back for the service for sure.
