About Dr. Cassandra Schakett
I strive to deliver personalized care to patients at all stages of life and pride myself in treating my patients as I would my own family. My goal is for each person to feel heard, informed and supported. Through compassion and sound clinical knowledge, from routine check up to specialized surgery, I provide my patients with individualized, collaborative and empathetic care.
Cassandra Schakett, MD is an obstetrician and gynecologist at Houston Methodist- The Woodlands Hospital who cares for women from adolescence through menopause. She has a special interest in high and low-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive and robotic gynecologic surgery.
While she grew up in New York, Dr. Schakett graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. As an undergraduate, she was involved in medical missions and volunteer work in multiple countries- Mexico and Spain where she learned conversational Spanish, and Uganda. These experiences helped shape the compassionate physician she is today. She completed all of her medical training in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world. During her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Schakett was voted by her mentors and peers to be Administrative Chief Resident and on completion of her training she won the esteemed award of Outstanding Chief Resident of the Year. She was also in the first residency class to achieve a certificate in DaVinci Robotic Surgical Training. She was also chosen by Houstonia Magazine as a Best Doctor of 2020.
Dr. Schakett is married to a native Houstonian who grew up in The Woodlands area. She and her husband have two daughters, who are their pride and joy. When not working, Dr. Schakett enjoys spending time with family, pilates, traveling, reading, and tennis.
