Dr. Fitzpatrick is a graduate of Temple University and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and has been in private practice for 35 years. He is a lifelong member of The American Optometric Association, the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians, and the West Jersey Optometric Society. He is a 30-year recipient of the Optometric Recognition Award for participation in the maintenance of clinical competence through continuing education programs throughout the country.*_ In 2007 he was selected as the State of New Jersey Optometrist of the Year by his peers at the NJ Society of Optometric Physicians._* He has held the office of President of the NJ Society of Optometric Physicians; Chairman of the NJSOP Third Party Center Committee; Clinical Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry; member of Optometric Advisory Board for Kremer/TLC Laser Eye Center; He is a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the South Jersey Eye Center. He is active in civic affairs and education in his home town of Mt Laurel NJ.
