“I get excited to see Dr. Nguyen. I am welcomed with a personalized sign and a big smile every time. Staff is wonderful and really makes you feel like part of the family. Everything is state of the art, and I feel like I'm at NASA with the level of technology and the precision of my tests.
Dr. Nguyen takes the time to explain, in layman's terms, what he sees with your eyes (no pun intended). He is funny, relaxed, and very educated.
Picking out frames with Destiny was like picking out frames with my best friend. Honest and affirming with a smile on her face. She made the experience seamless.

About Dr. Chi-Quang Peter Nguyen
Dr. Chi Peter Nguyen is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist certified by the Texas Optometry Board in the treatment and management of ocular diseases. He practices full-scope primary optometry and is available for pediatric eye exams, comprehensive eye exams, diabetic eye exams, LASIK consultations, cataract consultations, glaucoma evaluations, eye emergencies, and general optometric exams. His professional interests include performing eye exams for children, being up to date with the newest optometric technology, and handpicking glasses that match his patient’s personalities.
Along with being a Houston native, Dr. Nguyen attended the University of Houston and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Nguyen then received his Doctorate of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Nguyen completed his first internship at Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth, Texas, and his second internship at the Casa de Amigos Health Center in Houston, Texas. He routinely diagnosed ocular conditions including glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, dry eye disease, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Nguyen also received clinical training at the University of Houston College of Optometry’s Ambulatory Surgery Center where he co-managed pre and post-operative retina, cataract, and LASIK patients.
As a current member of the Texas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Harris County Optometric Society, Dr. Nguyen’s dream is to be the best optometrist in Houston. Dr. Nguyen has also been to many optometric meetings including the Vision Expo, Vision Source Exchange, and American Optometric Association’s Optometry’s Meeting to stay up to date with new fashion trends, equipment, and education. Dr. Nguyen now practices full-scope optometry using the most advanced techniques and highest standards of care.

Great experience! Office was beautiful and curated to be comfortable and enjoyable for patients. Office staff was incredibly friendly and very communicative of the expectations of each of the eye tests prior to the exam. Dr. Nguyen was very professional and made sure I understood the “why” of the tests and what they meant. He gave my different contact options based on my budget and helped me understand what habits I would need to maintain for good eye health. I was expecting to have “just another eye exam” - instead I had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Thank you!

I had an eye exam with Dr. Nguyen. He was very thorough and listened to all of my concerns. I finally was given contacts that last me the whole day without drying out. Will be coming back next year!

This is a very nice optometrist office. I had to make several rescheduling appointments due to my personal work schedule, which the office made various comments about while I was there. I think that for the technology and speed of appointment this is a great optometrist; for the price, however, it didn’t seem worth it. My insurance covers a certain amount for frame allowance and the majority of their options are well over the allowance I have. I was unable to afford the contact exam or the frames/lens prescription the optometrist recommended even with my insurance. I probably will have to find a cheaper office in the future.

Patient Intake: I thought that the welcome sign with my name on it was thoughtful and had a personal touch to it.
Patient Visit: Dr. Chi was super professional. Excellent explanations of the upcoming procedure and what to expect.

Dr. Nguyen is so knowledgeable and will tell you what’s best for your eyes. He uses high tech equipment to make sure all the measurements are accurate. Give him a try, you won’t regret it!

This optometry office is the definition of trendy modern. The office should be in magazines but it’s actually located in the heart of the Houston Heights!! Dr. Peter, the optometrist, is the designer himself! The details he puts in his office can be seen all over his office. From the exam, to how stylish the frames to choose from are! I’ve always been to random optometrists where they get you in and out, but Dr. Peter was so kind and funny!! The moment you walked in, it felt like you were his best friend as he greeted you! I loved how he took the time to teach me what he was doing and looking at. An eye exam is more than just readings letters off a wall! Who knew! He taught me how to be aware of certain signs of health issues to how to look at my own eyes!
