“I've been going to Ocala Eye for about 6 years now. All of the equipment was updated and I feel that the extra amount for the retinal scan (as opposed to dilating my eyes) was fair and worth the extra cost. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend them!”

About Dr. Christopher Castello
Christopher Castello, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 1997 and earned his Bachelor of Science from Florida Atlantic University in 1992. He is a Board-Certified Optometric Physician specializing in treating and managing ocular diseases. Dr. Castello also performs routine eye exams, including contact lens fittings.
Dr. Castello was the President of the Palm Beach County Optometric Association from 2006 to 2007. He also served as an adjunct clinical professor for Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Davie, Florida, for four years.
Dr. Castello always wanted to help people in the medical field somehow. When he first went with his father to an eye doctor appointment because of his poor vision, he realized optometry was the specialty field he was looking for. He says it is a great feeling to help someone see better almost instantly and to develop a relationship with them for a long time. Optometry has been challenging, rewarding, and precisely what he was hoping for in a career.
When Dr. Castello is not seeing patients or working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, traveling, doing woodworking, and playing golf.

They were all wonderful - the nurse who did my dilating drops was aware that I didn’t like them and made that experience more pleasant. The nurse doing my prescription thought I was 10 years younger than I actually am, made my whole week. The doctor was so friendly and knowledgeable - I have definitely found my new eye doctor. I recently had an issue where my eye was feeling funny, and Dr. Costello's office took me in right away. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The staff, especially the girl with the very cool Black Widow tattoo (I can't remember her name), was fantastic and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit.
Dr. Costello listened attentively to my symptoms and conducted a thorough examination, explaining each step and the results clearly. His calm demeanor and expertise reassured me that I was in good hands.
