About Dr. Craig Halihan
Craig W. Halihan, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist at Advanced Foot and Ankle Specialists located in Elgin, Elk Grove, Huntley, and the Montclare neighborhood of Chicago.
Dr. Halihan completed undergraduate training at the University of Illinois in Chicago and earned degrees in psychology and biology. In 2004, he graduated from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. He then completed a two-year surgical residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Halihan has specialized training in wound care, diabetic limb salvage, and trauma and reconstructive surgery. He is board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Halihan is certified in the STAR total ankle replacement surgery. He is committed to continuing medical education to provide the best and most up-to-date care for patients with the latest advancement in diagnosing and treating foot and ankle disease.
In his free time, Dr. Halihan enjoys ice hockey and home improvement projects.

Dr Hallihan is a very talented foot surgeon, he has performed a complicated surgery on 11/5/2024 to my Big Toe joint (rebuilding it ) , and after 30 days it is healing perfectly without complications. My wife also had neuroma foot surgery, 2 yrs ago on her foot, and it has been an excellent outcome.
If you are looking for the best foot surgeon in Northern Illinois... look no further...my wife and I both highly recommend, Dr. Halahan , he is knowledgably, caring, and professional... he is the right /foot Doctor for you.
