Curtis Dechant, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University’s College of Optometry in 1997 and earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta in 1993. After receiving his first pair of contact lenses in the 10th grade, Dr. Dechant decided to become an optometrist. Having worn glasses since the seventh grade, he found that contact lenses were a game changer for him, both socially and for playing sports. In practice since 1997, Dr. Dechant’s special field of interest is contact lens fitting, including specialty contact lenses for irregular corneas and orthokeratology/corneal refractive therapy for myopia control. He enjoys providing his patients with visual solutions that can have an immediate and positive impact on their daily lives. He particularly loves offering patients the option of contact lenses, if they desire, regardless of their prescription. Outside the office, Dr. Dechant enjoys spending time with his family, camping, playing golf, and going mountain biking and road cycling.
