About Dr. Daniel Polla
Dr. Daniel Polla is a board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained cornea specialist, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He specializes in conventional and femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery with astigmatism-correcting (toric) and multifocal lens implants, partial and full-thickness corneal transplants (DMEK, DSAEK, PK, KPro), intraocular lens complication procedures, and other corneal procedures.
He earned his bachelor of science degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor society. He then completed an internship in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following residency training, he elected to complete additional fellowship training in cornea, external eye diseases, and refractive surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital.
Dr. Polla has published multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, and research abstracts. He is a member of multiple professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is on staff at NYU Langone and Jacobi Medical Center, where he trains residents in cataract and cornea surgery. In 2022, he was awarded Outstanding Surgical Instructor by the graduating ophthalmology residents at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

I’ve had appointments with Dr. Polla twice so far and both experiences were great!!! Definitely 5 stars. Both visits had next to no wait time at all, the assistants got me started with a few tests, and the doctor came in right away. He’s very nice and personable and knowledgeable! Explained everything to me and calmed my nerves about the issues I was experiencing. I never felt rushed in my appointment but because of the little wait time it was very quick! Highly recommend Dr. Polla :)

This was my first visit and I must say I was very impressed with the the experience. I didn’t have to wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. He was very personable and I would definitely recommend him.

The office waiting area was spacious and clean. The tech was matter of fact and good at her job.
Dr Polla is young but I felt confident in his care. He explained what my situation is well and prescribed needed ointment and other OTC products to get. He also understood that I saw him because I couldn’t get an appointment with my glaucoma doctor and did not pressure me in any way to continue with him.

Dr. Polla came highly recommended and didn’t disappoint. He was so nice, listened to my concerns, and was very thorough and knowledgeable. He’s also very efficient and I was in and out of his office in a reasonable amount of time. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. So glad I found him.
