About Dr. Derek Wu

Dr. Derek Wu is from Minnesota, born and raised. He earned his B.S. in Biology from Baylor University and obtained their Doctorate of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry. During his clinical externships, Dr. Derek gained experience at Open Cities Community Health Center in downtown St. Paul, providing care to the local community. He also trained at a specialty contact lens clinic in St. Louis, where he grew an interest in Myopia control contact lenses. Dr. Derek is MiSight certified, the first FDA approved soft contact lens proven to slow progression of myopia in children. In his spare time, Dr. Derek enjoys cheering for Minnesota sport teams, playing basketball, and spending time with his family and girlfriend. Dr. Derek also enjoys exploring different cultures and countries, specifically the local cuisine.
