About Dr. Desmond Parkin
Dr. Parkin has provided comprehensive eye care for Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Crown Heights, and Fort Greene residents for over 20 years. A graduate of the SUNY College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry degree, he is also a neighborhood resident and is affectionately known as "The Community Eye Guy." The wait the last few times I've gone has been pretty long. I would say expect to wait 30+ minutes. They're relatively thorough, but that wait is a killer.

Dr. Parkin is great! He saw me right away, even though I was early for my appointment. He was very friendly, and walked me through the whole process and exam. He explained everything in terms I understood and put me at ease. Can't wait to go see him again!

I had a very short wait and my meeting with Dr. Parkin (or sometimes his associate) is always efficient. He's been in the neighborhood for many years and runs a fantastic practice. Would highly recommend.

I went to see Dr. Parking with my son, who is 14 yrs old. We both needed our eyes examined. We had no wait time at all.. He also used technology that I have never experienced before. I was very impressed I would highly recommend him for services.. The area has alternate side street parking rules in the morning, so cab it, public transport or just go in the afternoon..

Dr. Parkin is very thorough. He took the time to explain everything that he did. He also made sure that I understood what condition my eyes were in. I felt well informed. I recommend Dr. Parkin because he over exceeded all of my expectations.. If you care about seeing the best eye doctor for yourself or family this is the place. I always do my research and he's the best.

My visit with Doctor Parkin was great! He was very welcoming and answered all my questions and listened to my concerns and even gave me suggestions. My appointment was at 11:30 and had both vision tests and the photograph of my eyes completed and was out by 12:00. Efficient and fast I would definitely go back to Dr. Parkin.

I was not seen by Dr. Parkin, but the two men were patient and explained everything they were doing. They have top notch equipment. I have never had an eye exam like that before. I have never seen so many different machines.
