About Dr. Devendra Patel

Dr. Devendra Patel completed his medical training at TN Medical College in Mumbai, India. Upon graduation from medical school and completing his Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology, he moved to England to pursue further training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Leeds General Infirmary.
He later moved to the United States, where he completed a third residency in OB/GYN at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital. Immediately following his graduation from Bronx Lebanon, he began working at Lincoln Hospital. In 2006, he joined the OB/GYN faculty at Columbia University.
Dr. Patel joined the OB/GYN department at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in 2009 and now serves as a senior in the Division of Gynecology.
His fields of expertise include:
• Minimally Invasive Surgery including Laparoscopy
and Robotic Surgery,
• Medical and surgical treatment of Endometriosis,
• Surgeries for Fibroids and Pelvic Pain,
• Incontinence and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery [for
uterine prolapse and stress incontinence issues],
• Operative Hysteroscopy,
• Hysteroscopic Endometrial Ablation Procedures,
• Treatment of Menstrual Disorders,
• Treatment of climacteric and menopausal disorders.
Dr. Patel is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been the recipient of the ACOG/CREOG National Faculty Award for promoting high standards of residency education in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology six times in his career to date. He is also a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

I would not recommend Dr. Patel as a general GYN. He does not listen to patients and lacks the appropriate amount of time to treat them like individuals. Everything felt very much like a factory where he recycled the same five pieces of information. He made dangerous recommendations without asking questions or looking at my medical history.

Very pleasant and professional staff in reception. JoMarie the tech was pleasant, thorough and accommodating prior to and during the exam.
I would definitely recommed Dr. D. Patel, OB-GYN.

Extremely friendly practice, puts you at ease immediately (including the front desk staff - everyone is very helpful and informative).
In addition to meeting with a knowledgeable Dr Patel, I had the pleasure of meeting with Michelle, one of the nurses, who made me laugh and helped me talk out some concerns before meeting with the Dr.
