About Dr. Dickson Chen
Dr. Dickson Chen became an optometrist for one simple reason: to help others live the best lives possible. For him, nothing beats putting his skill set to good use every day to make a difference. He’s proud to do just that as a member of the Davich Optical team!
Dr. Chen graduated high school as both valedictorian and student body president before attending UCLA as a Regents and Alumni Scholar. During his time there, he served as his dormitory president for two years, sang in the UCLA Men’s Glee Club, and was a member of Lambda Phi Epsilon, the first and only internationally recognized Asian fraternity. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Marshall B. Ketchum University. While studying at the Southern California College of Optometry, he served as Class President, Student Association President, and American Optometric Student Association National Spokesman.
Prior to becoming a founding member and director of the American Optometric Society, Dr. Chen served as Chairman of the SCCO’s Young Alumni Association, President of the Rio Hondo Optometric Society, and President of the California Vision Foundation. As a member of Lions International, he served as Club President, Zone Chairman, and Optometric Director of the Lions Eye Foundation of Southern California. Dr. Chen has also served on the governing council of the Southern California Public Health Association and co-chaired SCPHA's Legislative Committee. In 2003, the California Optometric Association named Dr. Chen COA Young OD-of-the-Year and its nominee for the American Optometric Association's National Young OD-of-the-Year Award.

They have the latest and up to date technology to get eye exams done. Very accurate and efficient. Because of this, the actual eye exam of having to pick which slide is clearer, is less stressful and easier to decide. I went in to get my scratched eye glass lenses replaced. They don't accept insurance but sometimes they also provide small discounts. I also bought a 90 day supply of contacts. They got the glasses lenses replaced in an hour. I was able to wait in the cafe area which had comfortable couches and a large fish tank. The staff are very patient and helpful. I have been going to them for 5 years now.

I came for a eye injury and the doctor was so nice and calm. He also told me that my eye was going to be ok which meant a lot to me because my eye was in such deep pain.
I will definitely drive all the way here to do my glasses & contacts. I really recommend this doctor

I had an alarming red spot on my eye and opted for a virtual appt to get insight before heading into an in person appt.
Dr Chen was extremely helpful and caring when I called his office. Sent him photos of my eye and he went above and beyond to reach out for second opinions to assure I was getting an accurate prognosis. Would highly recommend Dr Chen!

This is a great office. I went on a sunday so it was a little busy, but i didnt wait long. The exam was super easy and they really do have a bunch of fancy technology to make the who visit as quick and painless as possible. I would recommend this office to anyone , really glad i found it.
