About Dr. Duke Yoon
Lakewood Eye Center has been serving the Puget Sound area for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and affordable family practice, serving patients of all ages and ethnicities. We accept Medicaid and Medicare, as well as other insurances (see our profile for more details). Our mission is to provide quality service to families and individuals from all backgrounds. Our provider has experience examining patients from 6 months to 102 years old! We look forward to meeting you.

Dr. Yoon practices in two locations, the Lakewood Eye Clinic and Eyes of Edmonds, for your convenience. He has over 40 years of private practice experience. After earning his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry, he furthered his training at the Gesell Institute at Yale.
He is the only practitioner to offer ocular prosthetic procedures in the North Sound area. In addition to general exams, he specializes in contacts, cosmetic procedures, and orthokeratology for myopia prevention and treatment. Dr. Yoon places a special emphasis on good nutrition to maintain healthy eyes.

When I called to make appointment I gave all my insurance info over the phone when I arrived at the appointment I was very rudely told they did not accept my insurance by the receptionist and another very rude man..

Everything was simple and quick, there wasn't much of a wait. They had some issues with the initial check of eyes. After that it was done effeciently, so we didn't waste much time. Because we were on Medicaid insurance, there are only a few selections of glasses to choose from. I'm not sure they did any measurements to confirm glasses would fit face correctly like other eyeglass stores do, so we'll see how they fit. 10 week wait for medicaid glasses.

The check in process was really quick. I actually forgot to bring my wallet (DL and insurance card) and they were able to look up my vision insurance online right away. The eye technician was communicative and very quick. The doctor used different tools that I've never seen at other optometrist offices - it was cool. He listened to all my questions and gave me clear explanation.

This was such an excellent visit that I made plans on the same day after my check up to take my kids in that following Friday. Dr. Yoon is so clear in his explanations and so funny! I really enjoyed talking with him and the rest of the staff. Very friendly and open. Will be going back!

I was impressed with the sense of humor the employees showed me and my daughter on a first time visit. I didn’t have to take my child to other places, they did it all within their clinic. Doctor has a good sense of humor. I enjoyed his quick sense of humor. He also was very proficient. Staff was courteous. Office is small and tucked into a strip mall, so it was a little hard to find. Everything in the mall is written in Korean with English in small print so look carefully for the business if Korean is not a language you speak

Hands down the best eye appointment I've had in recent history. He is a DELIGHT. He is so funny and so nice, it was so enjoyable. I was there to get an updated contact prescription and he was just so friendly. Everyone who works there was so helpful and so nice. When they didn't have my prescription available for dailies, they gave me a monthly pair to use until they received the daily wear lenses for me to try. He was thorough and is the first doctor to acknowledge that my eyes are bigger than normal and need bigger lenses to accommodate. I'm so happy to have found a good eye doctor in the area!

It was a nicer office than the surrounding strip mall had me expecting. Friendly greeting from the front desk right away. There was a short delay before the doctor actually got to me, but it was otherwise a very quick and efficient experience.

It is a clean and comfortable office with very friendly and knowledgable help. Dr. Yoon explained everything to me so I could easily understand my RX for glasses. I would highly recommend him for anyone needing optical care.
