Dr. Dumisa Adams began practicing as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist in 2000. She joined Mount Sinai in 2024 focusing on Gynecology. After completing her undergraduate studies at Queen's University, Dr. Adams earned her medical degree from the University of Toronto. She then pursued her internship and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology with the same institution. As a board-certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Adams' clinical interests include contraception and safely temporizing the symptoms of menopause.
In her professional community, Dr. Adams is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She is also involved in academia, where she serves as an Assistant Professor with The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Adams' past research includes traveling to Zimbabwe as an OB/GYN resident to study prophylactic AZT for HIV in pregnancy.
When discussing her time in medicine, Dr. Adams explains that her drive to become an OB/GYN stemmed from her mother's role as a midwife. She describes herself as perpetually and fiercely optimistic and says that everyone should find something to innocently, and wholeheartedly laugh about every day. Outside of her time with patients, Dr. Adams describes herself as an enthusiastic amateur gardener!

The office was pretty easy to find. The waiting room was spacious. The front desk receptionist was very friendly as well as nurse Taylor and Dr. Adams. One of the best experiences I’ve had going to the ob/gyn. She was very empathetic, great listener and amazing energy. Thanks for making me feel comfortable during the most uncomfortable moments.

I was very happy to be able to set up my annual visit with Dr. Adams. In a world where doctors are quick to rush you in and out and not really attend to you as a human, this visit was very refreshing. Highly knowledgeable, Dr. Adams is also a kind person and seeks to engage patients so they feel comfortable and welcome to share questions or concerns. I look forward to continuing to be a patient in her office. I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge her team from the from desk to technicians - all were welcoming and did their jobs with fidelity.

Dr. Adams is very personable and patient. She answered all my questions and did not try to rush through the appointment. She has a sensor of humor and she is very knowledgeable. Dr. Adams is easy to talk to and very nice . I’m glad I made the decision to book her.

Dr. Adams is amazing! The best GYN visit i’ve ever had. I immediately felt comfortable in her care. Excellent bedside manner and very thorough. For the first time ever I’m actually looking forward to my next appointment.

I had an appointment with Dr. Adams and I have to say it was one of the best and most pleasant appointments I've ever had. The anxiety I felt leading up to it quickly melted away. The front desk staff were polite, welcoming, and prompt—there was no wait time at all. As soon as I sat down, I was called into the exam room by a friendly staff member who made me feel at ease.
Dr. Adams was an absolute ray of sunshine—kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. It was my first time seeing her, and I was immediately ready to tell my friends that she’s the new go-to doc! Her bedside manner was amazing—she took her time, listened to all my concerns, and made sure everything was addressed. I felt comfortable opening up to her.
To top it off, two days later, I called the office with some follow-up questions, and Dr. Adams personally called me back to answer them and make sure I was taken care of. I highly highly highly recommend her.

Dr. Adams is absolutely amazing! From the second I walked in, I felt completely at ease. She has such a calm, kind vibe and takes her time to actually listen (which is so refreshing these days!). No rushing, no brushing off questions—just genuine care, patience, and attention.
What really stood out was how easy-going the whole visit was. We actually laughed during the appointment—something I never thought I’d say about a gyno visit! The positive energy was just flowing, and I left feeling lighter, comfortable, and totally cared for.
And I can’t forget her assistant, Taylor —what a breath of fresh air! So warm, welcoming, and fun to chat with. She made the whole experience even better. Together, they’re an incredible team that makes you feel like you’re in the best hands.
If you’re thinking about booking with Dr. Adams and Tailor, don’t even hesitate. You’ll leave smiling and wondering why all appointments aren’t like this!
