About Dr. Duyen Nguyen

Dr. Nguyen joined Allergy & ENT Associates in November 2010. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in Vietnam. She immigrated to the U.S. with her family at the age of 18. Dr. Nguyen graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, in 2000. She attended the first two years of medical school at Michigan State University and later transferred to the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, where she completed her training in 2005. Dr. Nguyen completed her Pediatric residency and Allergy/Immunology fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, in 2010. During her training, Dr. Nguyen participated in several volunteering works, including caring for children with HIV in Botswana, Africa, and treating children in Navajo Nation, New Mexico.
Dr. Nguyen’s clinical interests include food allergy, asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic sinusitis, urticaria, and immunodeficiency in both adults and children. Providing compassionate care and being the patients’ strongest medical advocate is her primary goal. She is married and has three beautiful daughters.

Allergey & ENT changed their system and ZocDoc doesn't communicate with it now. All the questions answered through ZocDoc were not received and I wasted another 25 minutes in the office filling out the same forms.
Once called back I waited 45 minutes to see the doctor, who spent 5-10 minutes with me. After another 45 minutes of waiting for the allergy test administrator, a very nice nurse came in and told me the administrator was running behind and it would be another hour before they could even administer the tests.
Now I'm an hour and a half into an appointment I showed up on time for, and it would be approximately another 2 hours before the test results were administered and read.
I don't have four hours to wait at a doctor's office because of their inefficiency. I left, frustrated, with nothing accomplished.
It was a big waste of time and they charged me an office visit.
I highly do not recommend going here.

Dr. Nguyen was absolutely outstanding! My 5-year-old was terrified to get allergy tested, and she made her feel so comfortable! We also found out she’s been misdiagnosed with a gluten, milk, egg and dairy allergy for years! This visit was life changing for my daughter and will save us a fortune on groceries now too. Dr. Nguyen is an absolute lifesaver!

Dr. Nguyen is really a great doctor. She listened to all my concern and asked plenty of questions to clarify things. She made sure to explain what test I am required and was extremely nice. I felt this is the doctor I would want to be seen all the time. Thank you doctor Nguyen :)

Dr. Nguyen is very thorough and personable! When my sons pediatrician wanted him to see an allergist ASAP before his summer in the Philippines, they took him within 2 days! He had some uncertain allergies so she did all the necessary testing he needed so we could be easy here in the US while he spend his summer with his grandma in the Philippines. And he followed her recommendations and he was allergy and asthma free all summer! Also, very important, as a nurse I know how important it is to get to your patients eye level for their comfort, and she did exactly that for my son. She also works out of 2 offices which I find very convenient!

The staff, from the receptionist to her nurse was exceptional. Dr. Duyen Nguyen was professional, courteous and respectful. She took the time to explain her plan of care and made sure my son understood her plan and responded to all of his concerns. She even recommended him to follow up with an allergist where he lives in SC. She spend quality time with him and explained in detail of his condition. As a parent, it was comforting that she treated my son like a patient and not just a number. She is a real professional and passionate at her work and it shows. Highly recommend her.

I will not be returning to see Dr. Nguyen. She did not ask me about any other symptoms other than what she could see, my red rash. She did not examine the various locations of the rash, so therefore she did not notice that it is different on different areas of my body.
She was not willing to discuss possibilities of what the root cause could be of my skin rash. When I probed for with more questions,she told me to look up what she thought it was on the internet when I got home. She told me that many people have hives and never know why. That doesn't work for me... Then she prescribed 3-4 over the counter drugs - way to much for me...nope, won't be back, won't recommend.

I took my 5 year old for some concerns with potential allergies. She thanked us for choosing her to care for my child then took the time to explain the different classes of medications that could be used to treat allergies. She also discussed what is happening biologically when my daughter comes in contact with an allergen and how those different classes of meds work in different ways. She was super gentle and friendly to my daughter and even took the time to listen to something my child felt was important about our schedule, which had no bearing on her treatment. I was really pleased with Dr. Nguyen and my daughter thinks she is pretty cool and is glad we went to see her. :-)

She didn't fully listen to what I had to say. I went in for problems with my asthma but she was more concerned about what the computer testing said than listening to the fact that I had been using my inhaler prior to coming in. She doesn't seem to know much about asthma at all and gave the impression of being new and relying more on computer testing than patient assessment

The only complaint I had was with the wait time but once they realized I was unhappy with it, they worked hard to get the doctor in to see me.
