About Dr. Elaine Cabugason
Established in 1978 by Rudyard Uriah Smith, our clinic has been a trusted provider of family care for over four decades. Now family-owned by Steven J. Smith, MD, and Dr. Elaine Cabugason, MD, we continue the legacy of providing comprehensive primary care for patients aged 18 and up. We proudly accept Medicare and PPO insurance plans.
At our clinic, we offer the best of both worlds: the expertise and resources to handle advanced medical conditions through affiliations with larger hospital networks, while maintaining the personal, family-friendly atmosphere of a small-town clinic. With "big city capabilities and a small town feel," we ensure our patients receive both exceptional care and the attention they deserve.
We emphasize building lasting relationships with our patients, guiding them through every stage of their health journey. Our philosophy is to "practice what we preach," promoting healthy lifestyles and educating patients on preventive care and long-term wellness.
Dr. Steven J. Smith, a graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago and board-certified in family medicine by Loyola, leads our team alongside Dr. Elaine Cabugason, a graduate of MCW in Wisconsin, who is board-certified in internal medicine after completing her residency at Loyola in Chicago.
We offer weekend appointments, flu shots, and easy parking access, making your healthcare experience as convenient as possible.

My experience was great! She listened to all of my questions and concerns. I usually experience physicians talking poorly about my weight and this did not happen. She seems to truly care about helping her patients. Glad to have found a physician locally.
