About Dr. Elizabeth Hannigan

Dr. Elizabeth Hannigan is an associate developmental optometrist at Northampton Vision Specialists. She joined the practice in 2011 after graduating from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). Dr. Hannigan first developed an interest in developmental optometry while working as an assistant vision therapist during her first year of optometry school. Three years later, she was reintroduced to the optometric specialty while completing a rotation with Dr. Ruggiero at Northampton Vision Specialists. After the rotation was complete, she happily accepted a full-time position at the practice. Dr. Hannigan finds it particularly rewarding to work with children, stroke patients and head injury victims. “My passion is helping patients achieve their maximum quality of life, independence and academic potential,” she said.
