About Dr. Elliott Moscot
Dr. Elliott Moscot, founder and CEO of Optometric Options, is a third-generation optometrist whose grandfather Hyman started one of the first optical establishments in the United States nearly a century ago.
After Dr. Moscot earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1976, he served as a staff optometrist at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel. From there, he volunteered to work at Torfeh Hospital in Tehran, Iran, where he remained until the beginning of the Iranian Revolution in 1979 (for which he wishes to take no credit). After 1979, Dr. Moscot returned to his hometown, New York City, and practiced in Manhattan until 1988. He then moved with his wife Kathy to Los Angeles. In 1989, he opened the first Optometric Options office, which quickly grew to four mall locations throughout the Los Angeles area.
Optometric Options proudly carries over 100 complete frame lines, catering to all price ranges and preferences of brand name and style. Doctors are available every day, including weekends (inc. Sundays). Patients can typically be seen the same day, and glasses or contacts can be ready within a 1- to 24-hour period.
Optometric Options is affiliated with all the major vision plans in Southern California. We also provide AAA and AARP discount programs.
We schedule eye examinations every day, including weekends, where we check for glaucoma, cataracts, retinal photography, and offer LASIK evaluations. We offer a large selection of designer frames and sunglasses with one-hour service in most cases. Additionally, we stock and fit contact lenses, including hard-to-fit lenses for astigmatism and multifocal prescriptions.
