Getting to know Dr. Emily Askin

I am a Licensed Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist with 22 years of experience as a therapist, evaluator, and consultant, and I earned my PhD in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. At Hope and Healing, I support individuals ages 16 and older experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, and major life transitions through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within a respectful, honest, and nonjudgmental partnership, while emphasizing the mind-body connection as a foundation for life satisfaction and working closely with students, parents, adult children of the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and those who feel lonely to help improve or change their path.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide respectful, honest, and nonjudgmental CBT-based therapy that focuses on practical strategies, the mind-body connection, and building a strong collaborative partnership.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We begin with a thorough assessment to clarify your goals and then work collaboratively using CBT techniques to address unhelpful patterns and develop effective coping strategies.
