About Dr. Esteban Sandoval
Dr. Esteban Sandoval earned his degree in Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma and his Doctorate of Optometry from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. He completed extensive clinical training through multiple externships and later practiced in a private ophthalmology setting in New York City, where he provided comprehensive and medical eye care to a diverse population with a high prevalence of ocular disease. His clinical responsibilities included post-operative management for cataract and glaucoma surgeries, pediatric eye care, and the diagnosis and treatment of complex ocular conditions.
Dr. Sandoval subsequently joined the Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine, where he delivered urgent eye care, comprehensive examinations, and post-operative support for patients with acute and chronic eye disease.
He is particularly proud of his work serving remote Alaskan villages, where he provided essential medical eye care to underserved Native populations—further strengthening his commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible care.
Dr. Sandoval has advanced clinical interests in cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, dry eye disease, allergic conjunctivitis, and computer vision syndrome. He also specializes in orthokeratology, myopia control and management, and hard-to-fit contact lenses, including specialty lens designs for patients with complex visual or corneal needs.
With a strong emphasis on medical eye care, Dr. Sandoval combines clinical expertise, advanced technology, and a compassionate approach to deliver precise, individualized treatment. Dr. Esteban Sandoval, O.D. at the Denver Eye Practice inside HCA Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center is excellent. The office is modern, clean, and very welcoming. Parking is extremely convenient, and the free valet service makes the entire visit stress-free. Dr. Sandoval is thorough, professional, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. The optical selection is impressive with a great variety of stylish frames. I highly recommend the Denver location for quality eye care and a smooth, comfortable experience.

Instead of just recommending drops, he focused on getting to the root cause of my symptoms. He explained everything clearly and created a treatment plan that made sense. Dr. Sandoval is knowledgeable, thorough, and truly cares about his patients. Both the Aurora and Denver offices are beautiful spaces with a great atmosphere. The optical selection is excellent — plenty of stylish and high-quality frames to choose from. Parking is easy at both locations, and the Denver office offers free valet parking, which makes appointments even more convenient. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

He helped take control of my glaucoma and created a clear treatment plan that made me feel confident moving forward. The office is modern and professional. They also have an in-house lab, so my glasses were made quickly without long wait times. The entire experience felt efficient, thorough, and focused on quality.

I chose the Aurora office because I was looking for quality care, and I’m glad I did. Dr. Esteban Sandoval provides a very thorough exam and clearly takes pride in doing things the right way. Although this in-network Doctor was a 25 minutes drive from my home, I kept the appointment, hoping to be impressed. I do not feel comfortable at the optic offices in my area as it’s not the best of neighborhoods! I made the right choice! The gals up front were terrific! Giving over the top, friendly, 5 star guest service! All were very helpful-(sometimes that makes ALL the difference!)
Doctor Sandavol was Awesome, thorough & friendly. (That of course is always the deal maker!) He finished up the meeting with good news & I’m in no danger of glaucoma!
I appreciate Dr.Sandavol & his lovely staff! I’ll return in a year, to see if my optic health changed & if I require additional services. Dr Sandavol’s office is where I’ll be visiting, a year from now! Thank you for a pleasant experience! Everyone was fantastic!
