“Dr Zaman was friendly and knowledgeable. My primary qualms were with the office staff. I asked for my prescription in the office and was told they would email it to me. That didn’t happen so I had to follow up and they only sent my contact prescription not my glasses. Again, I have to follow up and there’s still a part of the prescription necessary to order glasses that wasn’t included. While waiting in office, I asked them to notify me of my insurance coverage for glasses v contacts and they did not. A very snippy man called me 4 minutes after my appointment time threatening to cancel it even though I ultimately arrived within the 10 minute window. ”

About Dr. Farah Zaman
Dr. Farah Zaman was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas and Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She is licensed by the state of New York as a Therapeutic Optometrist, and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New York Optometric Association.
Dr. Zaman previously worked in Austin, Texas where she fortified her skills in both primary care and medical optometry. Dr. Zaman’s optometric training included multiple forms of patient care, ranging from pre-operative and post-operative care for patients following cataract surgery, to advanced care in dry eye therapy. She treats patients ranging from 8 years old to adulthood.
When she isn’t providing outstanding care to our patients, Dr. Zaman enjoys trying new restaurants with her husband, trivia nights, and playing with her niece and nephews.
Our office strives to provide great patient care and we take our scheduling very seriously.
We do charge a $50.00 fee for cancellations within 24 hours and No Shows

There were a few issues with my visit.
I booked an appointment with Dr Zaman based on her good reviews but I was seen by different provider. The provider did not introduce herself other than calling herself “the doctor” so i wasn’t sure who was examining me during the visit. On the prescription I saw the name Marshall OD. I understand emergencies happen but i felt that it was not appropriate to change the provider without asking the patient first or even a proper notice.
Secondly and more importantly, i feel that i was overbilled. I confirmed this practice was in-network with my insurance and there’d be $0 copay for annual eye exam. At the checkout, i was asked to pay a significant amount for eye exam. When I asked about the coverage, the front desk lady initially said my insurance does not cover the exam . When i showed her my insurance website, she changed her words and said that today’s exam was not a routine eye exam but a special testing. She said she can’t share the details but

Dr. Zaman was great. She answered all my questions in detail and helped me with some catract issue I had. Everyone at the office was also so pleasant, and helped me pick the best glasses.

From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was incredibly friendly. My wait time was less than 30 minutes. The doctor was so patient and kind. She answered the questions I had and gave me answers I could accept and understand. She also explained what was happening and what would be next steps. I will definitely be going back for my annual exam. This visit was one of the best I’ve had in along time.
