Two visits fine, very professional and generally courteous, except for extended waiting times of at least 30-45 minutes each time. Also, front-desk staffer a bit too abrupt, unsmiling, factory-conveyor-belt like in dealing with patients. Lacking in any warmth or welcoming, pleasing style...even when waiting room not overflowing with patients. But Dr. Pamel & medical tech staff excellent.

My visit with Dr. Pamel - once it took place - was fine. And the testing by Lucas was fine. Unfortunately, there was a long wait to start the testing, a crowded waiting area and a crowded testing area, some confusion about test results, too long a wait to see the operation specialist. Bottom line, the medical personnel seemed knowledgable and professional, but the office/waiting room/testing area/pre-op situation was of concern. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

Make sure when you make an appointment that you reserve PLENTY of extra time. Dr. Pamel's office gets quite crowded and overbooked all to often, it seems. However, it is worth the wait -- Dr. Pamel is an amazing eye doctor and the entire office is staffed with competent professionals. All my questions were answered, and I always felt like I was being treated with the highest level of service and knowledge.

I felt the technician who did the preliminary exam, glaucoma test, refraction, etc was in need of more training. She was friendly and chatty perhaps too much so. Just not professional enough. And since I spent more time with her than with the doctor I felt that I didn't have the professional attention I should have had.

Dr. Pamel carefully listens to all of patients' concerns and does all necessary tests to find answers. I have been a patient for about 10 years. I've recently had some health/optic problems mostly due to aging , but I feel that I am in good hands to keep maximum eyesight .

This was disappointing on all fronts. First, I checked in on ZocDoc and filled in all my forms electronically. Upon arrival they said they didnt take ZocDoc forms so I had to do all over again. The wait was very long. As a new patient, no one explained what tests they'd like to conduct for general eye health. Then, once you're in they tell you a contacts fitting is not covered by insurance and it's a premium. For me though, the most frustrating part was the contacts Doctor seemed disorganized. This was why I was there. They didnt have my prescription to try. But she told me she wanted me to try 1 day multi focal moist at a reduced prescription to my usual. As soon as I left the office I could tell the prescription was way way off. Then when I got home I opened the test samples she gave me and they were 2 week Oasys which is totally different. Now I have to hve another appointment to address. I would not recommend this experience.

I always appreciate the care and concern the doctors and assistants show. With all the testing that they do, I feel my eyes are in good hands! As we age, a lot of things don't work as well as they was did. You ma get dentures, a cane, a hearing aid, or even a new hip! But you can never get new eyes. The care I receive at Dr. Pamel's office makes me feel I getting some of the best care you can receive.

I really liked him. He was thoughtful, thorough, answered all of my questions, and had a good plan forward in dealing with my issue. The office staff was a bit disorganized, but ultimately got the pricing right. And they were pretty accommodating with scheduling my upcoming visits.

Dr. Pamel himself is nice but your exam is not conducted by him, he just writes the rx. There are like 5-10 people in the staff and they all sit around talking doing nothing instead of helping patients. Their "computer was down" so I had to re-fill out all my ZocDoc forms. They did not inform my prior to my visit that they needed a previous rx from another doctor in order to write a new rx. When the doctor told them to email me my rx I had to email them multiple times because they were unresponsive and no one seems to know what their jobs are.

Dr Pamel was actually very pleasant. His staff made the experience wildly unsatisfactory. Upon signing in, I noticed that sensitive portions of my medical history were printed RIGHT ON THE SIGN IN SHEET, next to my name, DOB, phone number, etc. When the nurse came in to do the preliminary work, she said "we are going to put these eye drops in, which will dilate your eyes." She didn't preface this with "did you drive here?" or "do you need to do anything for the next three house?" The dilation lasts 3-6 hours - which I noticed a bit in the dark office (couldn't focus on anything >2ft away), but then became very apparent the moment I stepped outside. The light was absolutely blinding. I put on sunglasses, and hid in a dark coffee shop for an hour until I could see enough to sort of drive to work (because yes, most people coming in for an early morning appointment are doing so because they need to go to work after) - but even that was precarious. I sit here in my office, with the lights off and shades down, wearing sunglasses and trying to do a little bit of work. I mean, with all due respect, this is something that you discuss with people before you blind them!
