Have gone to Dr Pamel for 15 years (though not every year). I have a lot of confidence in the care and treatment he provides
The visit was great. Staff is very professional and informative
My visit with Dr. Pamel - once it took place - was fine. And the testing by Lucas was fine. Unfortunately, there was a long wait to start the testing, a crowded waiting area and a crowded testing area, some confusion about test results, too long a wait to see the operation specialist. Bottom line, the medical personnel seemed knowledgable and professional, but the office/waiting room/testing area/pre-op situation was of concern. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
Very professional. Was patient and answered my questions.
Totally professional. Office staff also very attentive and competent.
Make sure when you make an appointment that you reserve PLENTY of extra time. Dr. Pamel's office gets quite crowded and overbooked all to often, it seems. However, it is worth the wait -- Dr. Pamel is an amazing eye doctor and the entire office is staffed with competent professionals. All my questions were answered, and I always felt like I was being treated with the highest level of service and knowledge.
Awesome and educated staff, however you should anticipate a wait time. Wouldn't go anywhere else!
Well organized and professionally managed.
Great visit but disappointed in the 35 minute wait.
The doctor and staff are always extremely professional and attentive, They explain each procedure and test as well my diagnosis and treatment options. I am most pleased with the service and care I receive.
The doctor and his staff were extremely professional and attentive. The doctor took the time to explain each procedure, mis diagnosis and each treatment option available to me.
I felt the technician who did the preliminary exam, glaucoma test, refraction, etc was in need of more training. She was friendly and chatty perhaps too much so. Just not professional enough. And since I spent more time with her than with the doctor I felt that I didn't have the professional attention I should have had.
As always, quite professional and informative. Questions asked were answered intelligently. I trust him with my eyes.
It was great. He considered my personal needs before moving forward.
Dr. Pamel carefully listens to all of patients' concerns and does all necessary tests to find answers. I have been a patient for about 10 years. I've recently had some health/optic problems mostly due to aging , but I feel that I am in good hands to keep maximum eyesight .
This was disappointing on all fronts. First, I checked in on ZocDoc and filled in all my forms electronically. Upon arrival they said they didnt take ZocDoc forms so I had to do all over again. The wait was very long. As a new patient, no one explained what tests they'd like to conduct for general eye health. Then, once you're in they tell you a contacts fitting is not covered by insurance and it's a premium. For me though, the most frustrating part was the contacts Doctor seemed disorganized. This was why I was there. They didnt have my prescription to try. But she told me she wanted me to try 1 day multi focal moist at a reduced prescription to my usual. As soon as I left the office I could tell the prescription was way way off. Then when I got home I opened the test samples she gave me and they were 2 week Oasys which is totally different. Now I have to hve another appointment to address. I would not recommend this experience.
Careing, professionall and efficient treatment by the Dr and his staff.
Excellent professional visit.
Dr Morrison and Sylvia were both wonderful. Sylvia bad the appointment happen at the last minute. they are both great!
I always appreciate the care and concern the doctors and assistants show. With all the testing that they do, I feel my eyes are in good hands! As we age, a lot of things don't work as well as they was did. You ma get dentures, a cane, a hearing aid, or even a new hip! But you can never get new eyes. The care I receive at Dr. Pamel's office makes me feel I getting some of the best care you can receive.
This was a follow-up visit to see if new medication was lowering pressure in left eye- it was and Dr Pamel was pleased. Next appt. in 3 months
The visit with the doctors was fine, but the wait of almost an hour was NOT.
I really liked him. He was thoughtful, thorough, answered all of my questions, and had a good plan forward in dealing with my issue. The office staff was a bit disorganized, but ultimately got the pricing right. And they were pretty accommodating with scheduling my upcoming visits.
I found the office staff extremely flexible, accommodating and efficient. Dr. Pamel is up to date on the latest techniques, findings and publications-making the patient feel at ease. I recommend Dr. Pamel and his staff without hesitation.
I had cataracts on both eyes removed. I used to have distance and reading glasses. Now I wear no glasses and everything is bright and crisp. I call my eyes - new eyes.
Staff and Dr Pamel are excellent - the wait time has exceeded 30mins for both appointments so far.
Dr. Pamel himself is nice but your exam is not conducted by him, he just writes the rx. There are like 5-10 people in the staff and they all sit around talking doing nothing instead of helping patients. Their "computer was down" so I had to re-fill out all my ZocDoc forms. They did not inform my prior to my visit that they needed a previous rx from another doctor in order to write a new rx. When the doctor told them to email me my rx I had to email them multiple times because they were unresponsive and no one seems to know what their jobs are.
Staff was very friendly and very helpful!
Very professional the staff and Dr. Pamel.
Staff were professsional, courteous, and friendly. The staff made me feel very comfortable.
Very professional and thorough. also informative as too available options.
I was very much satisfied!
Dr Pamel was actually very pleasant. His staff made the experience wildly unsatisfactory. Upon signing in, I noticed that sensitive portions of my medical history were printed RIGHT ON THE SIGN IN SHEET, next to my name, DOB, phone number, etc. When the nurse came in to do the preliminary work, she said "we are going to put these eye drops in, which will dilate your eyes." She didn't preface this with "did you drive here?" or "do you need to do anything for the next three house?" The dilation lasts 3-6 hours - which I noticed a bit in the dark office (couldn't focus on anything >2ft away), but then became very apparent the moment I stepped outside. The light was absolutely blinding. I put on sunglasses, and hid in a dark coffee shop for an hour until I could see enough to sort of drive to work (because yes, most people coming in for an early morning appointment are doing so because they need to go to work after) - but even that was precarious. I sit here in my office, with the lights off and shades down, wearing sunglasses and trying to do a little bit of work. I mean, with all due respect, this is something that you discuss with people before you blind them!
Great service, however they do not accept vision insurance, and scheduling through ZocDoc doesn't show up on the patient list. You may want to call and confirm your appointment. Otherwise Dr. Pamel and his team were awesome!
Knowledgeable and thorough. Wait time is pretty bad in this office. Incredibly overbooked but I suffer through it because I really trust him.
Arrived 5 mins early to my appointment. It took 35 minutes until I was seen by a tech for 5 minutes and then another 30 to be seen by the doctor. My visit with the doctor was 90 seconds. Unacceptable. Was also given the wrong type of eye exam so had to pay a high copay for it. Would not recommend nor return.
He's simply the best!
Very good and competent
DO NOT BOOK APPT with this office through Zoc Doc. There scheduling systems are no longer compatible and they will have no record of your appointment. Call the office directly!!!
Dr Pamel made me feel like I was bothering him. I will not recommend him to any of my friends, neighbors or co workers.
It's really good
Excellent! Best medical staff on the east coast!
wait time was about half hour...but worth it because he was an extremely knowledgeable doctor!
I had some very bad experiences with corneal docs and he put me at ease and wants to make sure what happened to me will mot even matter while working with him!
Informative and effective
Very professional. Cordial, calm, answered all my questions and was very thorough.
Dr. Pamel was professional, thoughtful, and kind. He was thorough and helpful and answered all of my questions. I would see him again. I did not, however, appreciate waiting over an hour in his office to see him for less than two minutes of facetime, or the needless (and uncomfortable) tests with his technician beforehand.
I have met Dr. Pamel before in his Astoria office. I already new he was a good doctor
Thorough, measured approach, good follow through. Courteous staff. Wait time was longer than I would have liked, but this was likely due to the fact that I had an early evening appointment - which is still beneficial.
Dr.Pamel is very proffesional ,
The staff was professional. I was examined both by Dr Pamel and his assistant. My questions were answered, I left the office very pleased.
I was recommended by a friend and found him very reassuring, calming and informative.
Was highly impressed. Though I was not a candidate for the procedure that I wanted, Dr. Pamel gave a through explanation why I was not. Extremely ethical, and I would gladly recommend him
I wanna tell you in Spanish excelente en todo aspecto
Waiting time is long but he is very busy and spend a good amount of time with each costumer. Very knowledgeable proffesional and true doctor without glossy ultra modern office, free expresso mashine.
Dr. Pamel also did cataract surgery for me and it was as easy as he promised --painless and two days later i was reading again. Eyesight better than ever. It was done in a very nice private hospital.
Very professional. Staff is good also.
very professional ...very nice ...very knowledgeable
Dr. Pamel was very helpful and I was pleased with my visit. Also, the front desk and the technician are courteous, very professional.I will visit them again. Thank you.
It went very well -- i was pleased on all counts. Be prepared to wait a bit, though, as the office is very busy.
My visit was great, had an examination, results was discussed & will have my Lasik surgery in mid-June. Staff was very friendly. I will definitely recommend Dr. Pamel
Very nice and professional. Wait time was rather long, 45 minutes to see technician, then another 20 min wait to see doctor.
I was seen quickly and everyone in the office was courteous and competent.
