About Dr. Hanish Patel
Dr. Patel is a graduate of Aston University in Birmingham, UK and SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. Dr. Patel completed a residency specializing in Ocular Disease at SUNY College of Optometry and Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center where he received extensive training alongside prominent optometrists and ophthalmologists in the areas of primary care, specialty contact lenses, refractive surgery co-management, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, and retinal disease.
Dr. Patel works extensively with all varieties of contact lenses, including scleral and gas permeable lenses, as part of the comprehensive management and co-management of keratoconus, severe dry eye and ocular surface disease, and irregular and post-surgical corneal conditions. His expertise and knowledge in the area of contact lenses and specialty lenses has had him serve as sub investigator on over 75 contact lens related studies.
Dr. Patel is also trained and certified to fit orthokeratology overnight lenses such as Acuvue Abiliti, in addition to MiSight and atropine for myopia management.
Dr. Patel is highly trained in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye, using the latest technologies such as IPL and Radio-frequency with the InMode Envision system.
As an active member and fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Patel, has lectured to fellow optometrists and published articles in various optometric publications. He is extremely passionate about providing exceptional care to all of his patients focusing on the best visual outcomes for each of his patients’ needs.
