Dr. Hyein Kim earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Optometry. Upon graduation, she received several awards, including the VSP Practice Excellence Scholarship Award, the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award, and the Newton K. Wesley Clinical Excellence for Contact Lenses Award. As a student, she was recognized by her clinical preceptors and awarded the Student Clinical Distinction Award for outstanding performance in clinical skills and knowledge, professional excellence, integrity, and empathy toward patients. Her clinical experience includes OMNI Eye Services, Chicago Cornea Consultants, and Tayani Institute. Dr. Kim has managed and treated various ocular diseases and co-managed surgical cases such as cataracts, refractive surgeries, and corneal transplants. While in school, Dr. Kim was actively involved in several organizations, serving as Trustee for the American Optometric Student Association and President of the Student American Academy of Optometry at her school. She was also a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society and Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, among others. She remains engaged as a member of the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Kim is committed to continuing education and staying current with the latest innovations in ocular health.
