Getting to know Dr. Ikram Hassan

Welcome to Life Stance Health! I specialize in working with individuals, families, and caregivers, offering counseling, therapy, and neuropsychological assessments. I am passionate about providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and affirming care for clients from diverse backgrounds. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, baking, traveling, and spending time in nature. Therapeutic Approach: I view therapy as a collaborative and holistic process, addressing the mind, body, spirit, and soul. My approach recognizes the interconnectedness of human development and experience, shaped by relational dynamics, cultural, socio-political, and sociolinguistic contexts. I integrate various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), multicultural therapy, psychodynamic, somatic, attachment-based, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and family systems. I use a person-centered, strength-based approach with children, adults, caregivers, and families, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment for healing. Background: I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, followed by two master's degrees—one in Adlerian Psychology from Adler Graduate School and another in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Adler University, with internships at Washburn Center for Children and a postdoctoral fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. I have also completed specialized fellowships in Neurodevelopmental Disorders at UCLA, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Illinois-Chicago. I have worked with diverse populations in both urban and rural communities, across private practice, community mental health, Veterans Hospitals, County Hospitals, and Academic Medical Centers. I have experience providing therapy and assessments in Somali and German. **Does NOT prescribe medications**
