About Dr. Isaac Chocron Kaswan
Dr. Isaac Chocron Kaswan is a board certified and fellowship-trained comprehensive ophthalmologist, cornea, and refractive surgeon who specializes in cataract surgery, including laser cataract surgery. He offers the most advanced multifocal and toric intraocular lenses designed to meet your visual needs. He has experience with Alcon’s newest PanOptix trifocal lens and Johnson & Johnsons’ extended depth of focus Tecnis Symfony lenses.
He earned a merit scholarship at the renowned Vanderbilt University School of Medicine for his medical degree and completed his ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He then completed an additional year of fellowship training in cornea, external diseases and refractive surgery at the prestigious Emory University Eye Center, one of the nation’s leading eye centers and early pioneers in refractive surgery. At Emory Eye Center, he gained expertise in refractive surgery including LASIK and PRK as well as corneal transplantation surgery and difficult dry eye and blepharitis management. He is a strong advocate for resident surgical education, having taught in Alcon’s national resident cataract surgery course in Ft. Worth, Texas, and has experience supervising and teaching resident corneal transplantation and cataract surgery.
Dr. Chocron is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers and national posters published in Cornea, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Current Opinion in Ophthalmology and the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Chocron was born in Venezuela and has lived in the U.S for over 20 years. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

I had a very disappointing experience. I arrived on time for my appointment, only to be told it had been canceled the day before. However, I showed them a same-day confirmation on my phone, and they eventually realized the mistake was on their end.
I was told I would be seen shortly, but after waiting for an hour with no update, I had to leave without seeing the doctor because I couldn’t stay any longer.
What made the situation worse was the lack of accountability and customer care. The front desk staff seemed more focused on charging me than on resolving their error or assisting me.
Overall, a frustrating and unprofessional experience. I will not be returning.

Walked in and all the way up to the desk and wasn’t greeted. It was the beginning of the day but the staff was already acting like they’d been there for hours and couldn’t wait to go home. I get it. Who wants to go into work? But why do I have to be treated unkindly? The doctor didn’t give me any resolution to my problem except a referral that doesn’t have availability until 6 months from now. Ended the appointment with the front desk staff not providing the glasses needed after eye dilation.

Front office help was average. Michelle said my insurance in network couldn’t be confirmed so I had to call and then put her on the phone again to confirm. This was a same day appointment and I was grateful to be seen with a vision issue. Dr was professional and knowledgeable. He was a good listener and willing to spend time to answer questions. Medical Insurance companies in general have become challenging for both patient and I’m sure Drs. Time for change! The ACA is anything but affordable! What a mess Obama made to our healthcare system!!!

After arriving early with all of my information submitted, the staff failed to properly verify my insurance and demanded a copay even though I met my out of pocket. After waiting over 30 minutes I told the staff that I would not wait any longer and left. The staff were rude and dismissive. I would recommend and would never return.

I was very pleased with our first visit . The office and staff are very pleasant and we found the MD to be smart, personable and he gave his time freely and didn’t rush us . Thumbs up!

Doctor’s bedside manner was awful. He rushed me into and out of the patient room, spending a total of 3 minutes. Did not ask if I had any questions and was incredibly dismissive of my concerns. He told me to “deal” with the complaints I had because they were normal, without any explanation of the science or the cause of the issue.
